As ruthless as Jasper is, I think she also has a massive personal sense of honor. She's fighting the good fight, to her point of view, against someone who committed an unforgivable sin - going against their nature, their place in the order of things, creating a role for themselves they weren't made for, and committing something between regicide and matricide by killing the monarch who caused them to be born. Against such an enemy, any battle tactic is excusable - and someone who could betray on such a deep level is someone whose motives you can never trust. Rose/Steven killed her Diamond=Rose/Steven is Bad=if Rose/Steven offers you mercy, it is a manipulative recruitment ploy by the traitor who murdered both of your queen/mother, nothing more or less. So even turning into a nothing - a monster - a violation of the great chain of being - is less of a disgrace to her than siding with traitors.

Good picture, love the sandstone and the shading on her developing claw, and it's a good presentation of (to me) a key moment in Jasper's characterization.
