I forget, did the Polar Express have Walschaerts valve gear, or Baker valve gear? Also, I just saw the movie, and, if you're going for a movie interpretation, there is a minor accuracy flaw in the picture. No where in the movie did the engine have a cab number... Not once... Like I said, I just finished watching the movie yesterday, so, yeah... Hope this helps!

Actually, the engine has Baker. If you look closely at the "Link" (actually the gear connecting rod) it looks like the GCR of the Baker. 1225 had Baker, too.

True, but maybe they didn't have it because the engine in the book didn't have a cab number, either... I don't think?

Also, did you notice that the Polar Express 1225 has it's whistle in the wrong place? In case you didn't know why, it's because in the movie, they said it was built by Baldwin, not Lima. Therefore, it has the same whistle setup as ATSF 3751, which was also built by Baldwin.

Yeah, but I made it to look like the movie, I mean take a look at any shot of the engine in the movie and you'll see the whistle in that spot.
