An idea I had in my head ever since I started doing car sprites, a sprite set of the demon on wheels, Speed Racer.

And IMO, as far as live-action movies based on cartoons go, Speed Racer is one of the better ones, especially when compared to the likes of Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender.

I saw it, and it honestly wasn’t that bad. Yeah it’s not a perfect movie by any means, but it was still a lot better than what I thought it’d be.

Still, the fact that Micheal Bay's name is still attached to it, combined with live-action cartoon movies(with some very rare exceptions) having a long, consistent history of sucking hard, doesn't give me reason to be confident in it whatsoever.

I admit, I was very turned off when I read that he was involved too, but I read just recently that in the end, he never had any involvement in the final movie whatsoever. I didn’t even see his name in the credits anywhere. And also, the movie is fairly kid-friendly, so there’s no explosions, no cursing, no teal-and-orange visuals, and no blood and gore whatsoever. This isn’t like the Transformers Baymovies (at least pre-Bumblebee). This movie, aside from a few minor things I admittedly cringed at, is fairly faithful to the original kids’ show. I won’t spoil anything, but there is one moment in the film- ONE MOMENT, where one of the scenes of the movie is completely animated in 2D, the same style used in the cartoon. And no, I am not making this up.
