that's disgusting. with al the animal cruelty going on these days, animal lovers should do their best to promote animal rights, not publish art work where animals are being hurt. what if one your younger readers decides that 'this sounds like fun' and tried it, where normally he or she would never have thought of doing something like that to a cat?
and a cat is the worst animal to use too, beause a lot of people still consider cats worthless.

no, cats don't work for humans, other than as companions. does that mean their lives are worth less? and if so, does it mean that all those dogs that are just pets and don't work are less worth than the dogs that do work?
and it wouldn't be better if it was any other animal, but it's extra bad when it's a cat because their status is already less than non-existant.

I still don't understand your reasoning behind why it's worse because it's a cat. But here's a thought. You've mentioned how cats don't really contribute anything. This cat-swing gives the cat a purpose, therefore lifting it in the ranks of animals who do little to nothing.
In conclusion. It's a picture, it's all in good fun, and there is really no point in preaching the values of kindness to cartoon animals.

Of course there are. However, I don't spend my entire life guarding against any action I might take which might randomly put a bad idea into someone else's head. Did you know that people with Alzheimer's disease regularly mix up TV and reality? For someone with Alzheimer's, watching a fictional movie where the country is invaded can be terrifying because they think they are actually under attack.
Should we outlaw all TV because some mentally ill person might get mixed up? No. Is it wrong to make movies with scary elements because some mentally ill person might get mixed up? No.
Just because someone out there is too stupid to function in society does not mean that everyone else in society should be forced to constrain themselves to works which a retarded person can understand.
