I think it is the three layers (flat graphic background, painterly approach to subject and then an almost photographic quality to the reflection in the eyes) that I find works so well for me. The Sweet close-up composition and a quirky facial expression do no harm either. Much like!

Semi-Critique Alert: I've noticed you rarely draw girls that resemble yourself. In fact, most of your female subjects are the exact opposite of what you look like. Your subjects are always so voluptuous, and have these doll like faces. While the themes are usually modern and raw, their beauty is very classic. I think it's great that you have such a defined style, but I wish you drew more subjects that look like you. Or at least, other girls that look like you.
I think you have a gritty, honest beauty, and I hope you take it as a compliment. Whether you need/want to hear it or not, you are a beautiful person. Just lettin' ya know.
I wish you drew more girls that don't fit the pin up/poster of perfection look. But honestly, I love your art, so it won't matter what you decide to do. I'm a big fan!
