Description

Many thanks - I picked that particular paper from your Stock because of the wrinkles it had on it. Something like the smoother Old Paper 02 or 08 would not have worked in the same way, but papers 22 or 30 are brilliant because of the staining and wrinkles.
The technique I used is from Steve Caplin's book, "How to Cheat in Photoshop CS3" and goes like this... choose your base paper and if it doesn't have rough edges, use a layer mask to create them. Put your picture over it in Hard Light blend mode, clipped to the base paper. Duplicate the base paper and put it on top of the picture, blend mode set to Hard Light again, desaturate it completely (so you just get the textures) and play around dropping the opacity or using a brightness/contrast adjustment layer. You end up with a nice wrinkled effect on what looks like a faded picture.
By the way, the technique for the gold coin came from the same book.
