The marble trout lives exclusively in the fresh waters of the Alps between Italy and Slovenia. It has a unique, marbled livery, which gives it its name. Its color varies from very light gray to dark brown, depending on the environment in which it lives. It can weigh over 25 kg 😱 unfortunately it is threatened by hybridization with other types of trout, and it hardly reproduces in captivity. A unique animal, a cunning and elusive predator, a creature that is very difficult to spot and catch in sport fishing.
