Description "It" being the Canon 500D that the wife and I had only just bought. I had it precariously perched on a flimsy tripod while taking these long exposures of a particularly rough Irish Sea.

This photo was taken just a moment before one wave came in too far and it toppled into the swirling white water. My reflexes were just that second too late. The camera was saturated. After a long wait I finally heard back from ISS in Dublin... they told me Canon in the UK had returned it to them with the news that it would cost more to repair then the camera was worth new.

Hence I've had an unwilling break from photography. However, due to the unexpected incredible generosity of others (you know who you are, THANK YOU!) I am now in possession of a 550D and let me say it is one stunning piece of equipment. So hopefully you will be seeing some better photos coming from me in the near future!
