As much as these redeigns look grewat. i go prefer Bystander the way i made her. The gasmask is symbolic of how she's ashamed to show her face for her refusal to use the excobyte's powers. which lead to her parents. If you get round to redoing these pics, i'd prefer it if you left the designs alone. no offence.
still thanks for all the hard work..

Haha. No offense taken. I ended up designing them off of your description more than your images because I can barely see what's in the images.

i'm sorry if i upset you, the feet are incredibly cute. ^w^ it's just a bit of a let down that she isn't how i designed her costume wise. maybe you should take a look at the picture, maybe turn the light on your moniter down or up till it comes our clear. as a bonus, i also posted the bystander's backstory.

oh shit ._.... look, i'm sorry, but i'm sure it'll be visible if you look hard enouth. it's all i can do, i have no capture card and i don't want one regaurdless. all i'm asking is that you redo those pics of the images i sent you. bystander is suppost to be manically depresssed and canstantly crying. you've shown her smiling in this pic . please redo them based off the pics. if you want, i'll explane their origins.

yea so if she is manic depressive then couldnt she be having a fit of mania? peaks and valleys man. i think its a litte presumptive for you to ask someone who prolly spent more time drawing "your" character than you did "designing"her to re draw cause you dont care for the artists interpretation. dont waste a generous artist's time.

i don't mean any offence to the artist, but one thing i'd recomend, is when/if he redoes it, go by the pics and not my explanation. This Bystander is (to me) an elseworlds one.

look, it's not like i don't apriciate the effort, but this isn't what shes meant to look like. i created the bystander, i expect her to be drawn in the same way. now i know the only reason she looks like it is cus of shoddy lighting when taking a photo of the telly. my fault.
as for her depression, allow me to explane.
The Bystander's real name is Rhoda Bright. before becoming who she is, she is a great college student who is tottaly devoted to her future, unfortunatly, as a result of that, she kinda distances herself from other students. She respects the heroes but never actually thinks of becoming one. On the day the excobytes fall, she gets acrobattic and mental powers that she doesn't really want. When superman explains whats going on, Rhoda mistakingly believes that the JLA is forcing these powers on people, and vows never to use her powers, thus begining to starve them.
for the next two weeks, out of fear that Rhoda may go rouge or do series damage to herself if she doesn't use her powers, the JLA and the new heroes try to encourage Rhoda to use her powers for good. She rejects all friendly advances however, and as a result loses allot of could be friends. Her bitterness keeps growing, and it all comes to a head when a package arives at her house. in it, is a superhero uniform sent by the league. This is enouth to drive Rhoda over the edge and she stuffs the suit into the garbage disposal. Later on her way to college she fails to stop a murder, a bank robbery AND a assult. This causes the League to give up on her, and her would be mentor, Wonder Woman to disown her as an apprentice. Rhoda remains smug for the rest of the week, safe in the knowledge that soon her dying powers will never bother her again.
One afternoon, she comes home from college, and is horrified to see Two Face holding her parents hostage. She tries to use her powers at last, but at this point, they're basically too weak. Two face probtly kills her parents violently and Rhoda suffers an emotional and mental breakdown. Shes forced to drop out from college and is moved to a local asylem and is realiced a while later. However, the guilt stilleats up at her and the depression worsens, as she realises that aswell as her parents, she could have helped so many people, but her selfishness, uncarring attitude, bitterness and inabnility to realise how much her powers could have meant to people got in the way. Hating herself and wanting to punbish herself for her actions, Rhoad fassions a costume from stuff from the attic, including her grandpa's ww2 gasmask, her mom's high school chess team outfit with a red pawn, some rubber gardening gloves and her 8th grade backpack. she dies this all black, (with a few things stained red, including the eye bits on the mask) and goes out to fight crime under the name ''The Bystander'', named after ''the bystander affect''. getting hurt deliberatly, beating the crooks, and them creeping off to commit self harm and cry. this she does after R-Learning to use her powers. The JLA finds out about her mission of eternal repentance and Wondy agrees to train her. Sadly, by then the damage is done and The Bystander is seemingly doomed to forever tred that line between manic depression, and suicide. shes also to top it off, shes also bald but used to be a brunette.

I really hate to hurt your feelings after all the work yo did. but this chaarcter, isn't The Bystander. This was never what she was suppost to look like. what you saw in that pic was what she looks like. I'm sorry, but these are my characters and i really don't like the fact you redesigned them.

you know what this needs? line weight variation, then it will be extra sparkly

haha thanks. i intentionally didnt so line weight like i normally do, because I was intending to color it. But when you get time Id love feedback on my other recent linearts. ( like this [link] or this [link] for example.) I assume i could do more weight variation on all of them. Still figuring it out. I do and it feels significant on paper, but when I look at my scans it no longer feels like that much. Also, do you think the line weight needs more variation based off of a finished color like this [link] ?
I really respect your knowledge and technique and appreciate your feedback. Thanks man!

Thing is it's the difference between drawing for animation, and drawing for sequential, animation doesnt vary line weight bc that would take WAY too long and animation's gotta get done, sequential has just the one image, so it's allowed to be spiced up. Now all in all its a personal choice as there are lots of comics drawn with a more animationy feel. As for how much, i would "shop around" aka look at a bunch of different artists you like and see how they do it.
