Absolutely amazing piece. The realism jumps out at you straight away, but it still retains one of my favourite things in art such as this - the speedpaint look where you can still see the brush strokes involved which come together to create a masterpiece. The black background really sets this thing off and you can just see him on stage strumming in front of his fans. The blurred spot lights behind his head are perfectly placed, not too central to the picture to become stereotypical, and not to secluded to not make a difference. Awesome shot i must say! Seen this piece many times and not even realised it was yours!

That's a nice painting, I quite like how you captured his look and expression and gave the scene a dynamic appearance. The lighting seems very accurate, too
The neck of the guitar could perhaps be a little straighter, simply because we pick up such straight lines of which we know that they should be straight really quickly. And thus a mistake there becomes obvious quickly. But that aside, there is not much to critique, really. I think his bandana could look a little more solid, but mostly I'd like to see some background detail, like the dark silhouettes of stage rigs and such, just to give this piece more depth.
Anyhow, despite these few nitpicks, really great job
Daniel

Thank you! Ah yeah, I did everything on freehand, and I got quite sick of it, hehe. And for the background, I worked from a ref, and there wasn't anything else going on in the background. But yeah, I do agree on everything you've pointed out.
Thank you for taking your time giving me some crits! I appreciate it a lot.
Daniel.

Hehe, I know It was merely just practice, as all my painting are for that matter! Practice for whenever I'll get a serious, paid commission, then it'll be the real deal.
But yes, I could add something, just that, even if it's vague, it might draw attention from the focal point, namely Mr. Richards. But I appreciate the advice and the good criticism!

This one is cool. But have I totally lost it, but I don't remember this guy being coloured. Still he looks a bit mixed blood or perhaps indian (as in Bollywood India, not NatAm)

Thank you. The reference I used was like that, it is a pretty dark scene, so it's only natural for his skin to look a bit dark.
But he does have fairly dark/tanned skin: [link]
