This piece gives a whole new meaning to "deer in the headlights!" Great juxtaposition between the familiar and the macabre.

Haha... You are the first one to actually see that. For a while during the process I actually had beams of light coming out of those eyes, thinking about that very expression, but it didn't look good so I removed it.
THANX!

Well, it depends on how you use it and what you want to achieve. Perks are a smoother and easier blending

I'm impressed with your anatomy. Your colour choice is superb, I love the use of the slightly blue highlights.

Thank you!
The anatomy? Well, I used a reference for the body and made some minor adjustments/alterations in order to cover for some stuff that weren't visible in the photo. The weird head was just to throw the viewer off. Whatever color-choices I made, they are highly accidental, haha! This painting is actually quite small and not something I felt all that ambitious about. It's funny how some pieces that you don't expect to get any attention somehow ends up being some of the most appreciated.

I know! It's those subconscious things we do that seem to garner the most attention. I'm not sure why I like this piece so much, I think it's the subtleties in the fur, the brush strokes are so purposeful in their accidental-ness.

Haha... Well, I whish I could just do these simple ones all the time and get away with it. I enjoy doing them and they don't take that much time, but I always try to implement some element in each piece that is out of my comfortzone. This one was completely safe and within my comfortzone, maybe that's why I don't appreciate it as much as others seem to do.
Thanks again for your interesting comments!

Fasen, karl, du är ju jätteproduktiv! Laddar upp en massa nytt hela tiden. Hur mycket målar du egentligen??

Haha... Mitt liv ser ut så här:
Jobba
