Description Digital, Corel Painter

A quick and experimental doodle. Sometimes, if not most of the time, these happy accidents turn ut to be the most enjoyable ones.

I understand what you mean. Digital pieces are easier and faster to produce than traditional. I paint traditionally when I'm off work, and thatΒ΄s about 1-3 days every week. So that, in combination with a lot of waiting for oilpaints to dry and etc, is the reason to why there are less traditionl pieces in my gallery. If you are keen on seeing more, I do recommend that you check out my facebook-profile or my blog where I post process-photos of my traditional work.

Haha... Yeah, this is one of those really quick and accidental pieces that just happen. It was just a rough shape barely reminiscent of a frog-like creature, composed by a variety of sloppy and rough brushstrokes, in which I then tried to enhance/polish just a small part of it. That little part helps the brain fill in info on what's happening in the rest of the piece that is less clear. That way the brain stays busy and alert when processing the piece. I think at least. Hope I don't sound too pretentious. I just really do enjoy these kinds of pieces that combine both the rougher/more painterly feel with a slight touch of polished and more realistic-looking technique.

No, you are completely right. The larger, rougher brush strokes, combined with the finer tuned details here and there in significant places; just perfect.

Hehe... It's quite an effort to actually make things look effortless.

Well, at least he doesn't need lubrication, being a slimy frog and all.
