Description
Digital painting and alteration of base sketch for new Claudia Borgess design for my girlfriend. As the original image I used for reference was heavy of the light side and i didn't make any more alterations to the pic before using it as a reference. due to this i went light of the shading only using hb. I took pictures of the sketch with a white background on laptop shining through as well as one with a black screen to deepen the shadows. this also had the added boon of bringing out the imperfections of the paper which I used with filters to simulate a dabbed brush patter. after editing the two images and merging them down i then desaturated to get a grey scale. I then used different colour balances, temperatures and saturation on different layers to experiment. once I had all the grey black and blue I wanted I then used the colour picker on the original morph and the magic wand to apply these colours to certain patterned areas and merge and filtered things so i all worked cohesively.
after a lot of digital surgery including the above and more I finally wound up with my second Ocean View piece "Ebb and Flow".
