Yes, I know I said the next post would be a finished piece....ha ha.....Well, I got entangled in the leaves, petals, etc and the carving (as they often do) has morphed into a more complicated carving. Oh yeah, that's just what this ol' hippie needs.....more complications.......Eventually you will get to see the whole carving. This is about half of it.I carve a lot of faces for the gallery and this has a tendency to keep me pretty busy, so, when I'm carving a more involved piece it will take me a while....and then there is always spontaneity.........

Thank you very much. This carving has been an adventure for sure. This carving started as one idea or two and morphed into something very different from the original notion. This is often part of the process in relation to my carving. A Friend and fellow Deviant, asked me about carving a hawk. At that point, the hawk became part of the focus.
I am gradually working my way up the carving.....who knows what adventures lie in the path.......

Dein Werk so filigran ausgearbeitet, jedes Detail so schön herausgestellt. Große Kunst in Vollendung, Daniel.
Ich habe mir den link angeschaut und dich wieder entdeckt. Es sind so schöne kunstvolle und sehr ursprüngliche Arbeiten. Allein die schweren Tische, die verwinkelten Stühle, Garderoben als auch deine Säule. Wie nennt sich das (deine Arbeitssäule) richtig?

Die Säulen sind Maple Burl Pole. Die Rinde wurde "Macht gewaschen" aus, so dass die Burl ausgesetzt ist.

Awesome, Sir!! I've messed with a few pieces of driftwood, but working with wood is hard, and tedious, and time consuming, for sure!! Great detail so far!! I like the shape of the whole piece and the actual design! Some parts look almost delicate!! Well done, my hippie friend, take a bow!!
