Awesome piece. I just love the glow of the fire. Really gives the strong impression of heat that you rarely see in a Phoenix illustration. I too would suggest toning down the pink on her face. Might have suggested darkening it to add to the bad ass nature. But an amazing piece regardless.

I think you went a little too oink on her skin tones, but everything else is great. I love that flaming phoenix.

Iβm not an X-Men fan, but I know bad-assery when I see it. The rolling flames are excellent.

The flames are really incredible. The fact that they're actually a phoenix is just bonus points.

Nice work. The detail of the fire you put into the bird really shows. Makes me glad I'm not in her way.

WOW.
The flames and background are incredible. Maybe considering them, and the heat that come with them, the colors on the main character are too sharp? they should be more blurry I feel, and the green should be more orange if you see what I mean.
Still, awesome awesome pic.

Yeah good point about adding in a blur effect, like heat waves that you would see on a hot road or something to that effect. And I actually was thinking of making the great more warm, but it kinda made her pop less.

I mean the "green" more warm.

Those thighs only rival those of Chun-Li's and possibly Frank Cho's.

Great work, Danimation! I really like Jean's pose and the flames on the fire phoenix in the bg. Did you paint all of them in by hand? If so, you must have the patience of a 1,000 year old monk. Very cool!

The flames actually don't take that long and they're not hard to do, but I wouldn't want to do 8 panels worth of them on several pages that's for sure.
