Clowns.

Their reputation was damaged and they went out of business long ago because of horror films, fear, and worst of all, their name being used as an insult.
Think next time before you say something. Think deeply.
Plus as someone who once wanted to be a clown, I don't like Eclipse either.

The tag filter doesn't work well :/
I always deactivate the mature filter because I have no problem with gore, sensitive themes and "non fetish" sexual content or nudity, because it would be annoying if I had to uncensor manually each picture when I'm looking for that stuff. But I just came accross a favourite folder full of toilet fetish drawings and some of them are censored and some others aren't despite having some of the exact tags I blocked :Β feetfetish,Β fartingfetish, toiletfetish or asslicking.

Is it normal?

Oh and I agree with people below : some deviants don't tag their deviantions, tags should be obligatory (at least 3 tags).

I already used the 100 mute tags allowed, and I still need to block more tags... each day I find a new weird stuff on the front page.

My soul feel so dirty right now, I never imagined they were so many weird fetishes in this site (because I avoid front page since years now).

Please, more mute tags, I beg you. Thank you and keep it up the good work Β

Just a headsup, you broke opengraph data with Eclipse. All the info that used to populate through the and og: is replaced with useless junk.

I can't believe you'd roll out a *broken* frontend to your site...

st.deviantart.net/minish/main/… "/>

Instead of the actual data. This is making your content look terrible in *ANY* service that attempts to embed your site, particularly since you randomize whether people get Eclipse or not at the moment, which results in the opengraph skimmer acting intermittent.

Guess you guys are trying to pull a Tumblr, huh?

Three big requests right now:
- The return of the "select all" feature on notifications and art in the new Watch page. I just had 46 new notifications tonight and having to select all of them one-by-one to remove them was very inconvenient. This feature was previously a part of Eclipse so I don't know why it was removed.
- The ability to watch specific collections without having to watch the artist, just like in the current/old dA layout
- The migration of the old dA Watch page into Eclipse (the one accessible throughΒ deviantart.com/watch Β on the old site; not the new Eclipse /notifications/watch URL). I like to see what the artists and collections I watch have favorited as it is an important way for me to find new art I wouldn't have otherwise found. It is the one thing I still switch back to the old website for and not having it in Eclipse sucks. If it doesn't get migrated at all, it'd really hamper my use of the site.

People also should be able to filter artists that they do not like. Blocking only prevents those people visiting your page. So if you block someone you should also not see their deviations in your inbox if the blocked person posts pictures to the groups that you have on deviantWATCH.

Watching various groups would be more fun if you could filter out those artists that you don't like. For example some artists make constantly art that is 'off-topic' but because the admins of the group approve those deviations you have to watch also those 'off-topic' pictures. For example several years ago there was one really good anime group. Unfortunately it had active users who constanly posted fan art about Simpsons, Family Guy and other Western animations. So those pictures really did not belong to that anime group but there was no option to 'turn off' watching those people. So for example I had to leave that group because too huge part of it was art that I was not interested of receiving to my inbox.

+1 for this suggestion. While it wouldn't be wise to block a person because they don't use tags tho, this would be especially useful for ignoring trolls completely.

Even though I make erotic art, it might be worth while enforcing this like categories or the maturity option, because even within the realm of erotic art, I also don't like having to see very weird violent work. Although I respect that it exists and I have no issue with people wanting to make it, I don't really want to be confronted with it.

ImaDeeJ In reply to ??? [2019-06-29 12:19:35 +0000 UTC]

A blacklist feature is something DeviantArt has needed for years (A feature that should be the bare minimum of any art site) and I'm happy to finally see it.
Not only does it stop people seeing what they don't want to see, but it stops artists, mainly NSFW/Fetish artists from receiving abuse from said people. (It happens a lot)

That being said, it's a massive shame it's restricted to only Eclipse when it's a feature the regular DeviantArt could greatly benefit from, but I guess Eclipse is going to become this compulsary burden later this year anyway.

I love the muted tags addition, but there is still the problem of non-tagged works.

In order to submit a deviation, a category is required, so why not tags? (Personally I almost always forget to tag my art) So in order to combat fetish art or (whatever art people don't want to view) not being tagged (and therefor not getting blocked), perhaps at least 1-3 tags should be required to submit a deviation?Β

Alternatively, you could places a bigger restriction on what is or isn't allowed as far as mature art goes.(E.g. ban works depicting excessive violence, bondage, adult toys in general, etc.)

Or instead of blocking random tags or placing more restrictions on deviations, just allow us to block certain types of mature art. Whenever a work is flagged as mature, and the artist ticks the little box beside 'sexual themes' or 'gore/violence', automatically tag the work with those phrases, then allow us to block those specific tags. You could still have the blacklist for more specific things (in which requiring a few tags to post a deviation would help), but those of us who don't want to see something like nudity could outright block it.

(Yes, we'll still have unflagged mature art, but a simple report can fix that.)

Sotkettu In reply to LadySaltyBeard [2019-06-29 20:42:25 +0000 UTC]

One problem with tags is that for many years tags were not part of deviantART. When tags were introduced all the old keywords were removed. That is why there is very much old art that does not have proper tags. Many old deviations used to have very good keyword lists but when all the keyword lists were removed many usersΒ  did not bother to write all the keywords again as tags.

LadySaltyBeard In reply to Sotkettu [2019-06-29 21:10:17 +0000 UTC]

I've seen quite a bit f newer art untagged, or tagged with very specific tags. And I've also seen fetish art with very simple, non-fetish tags. I myself forget to tag most of my stuff anyway, the only place I normally remember to tag is patreon, and even then I use personal tags specific to the character/story the art is related to, not generic #naga #nagamale #humanoid tags. They should allow us to filter types of mature content (like mature works tagged as "gore" for example). For now I'm just turning on the mature filter, I can just unhide types of mature content I do want to see

LadySaltyBeard In reply to LadySaltyBeard [2019-06-29 05:20:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the tags aren't solving the problem for me. I look up "slime", I get fetish art. A lot of it. So I block as many of the tags used in that art, and somehow I end up with MORE fetish art than before I blocked the tags...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadySaltyBeard In reply to LadySaltyBeard [2019-06-29 05:50:09 +0000 UTC]

Apparently it's just 'slime' (and quite possibly a couple of other words out there. Other things seem to be cleaned up by muted tags so yay! Β Β Β  Filtering system still needs work though

I gave up on Eclipse a long time ago. The moment it becomes the only interface is the moment I leave – to those who are thinking that I am against changes let me tell you that this has nothing to do with an aversion to change (I just started to work on a new version of a web app that will require an entire change of its interface).
