Thank you!!! We’ve been asking for this for forever. But yes I agree with some other people, I think you may more than 100

Muting tags is a nice idea, though I'm not sure if 100 will be enough for everyone...

Can we keep the old site an option or is that an impossibility? I find Eclipse mode simply confusing and frustrating...makes me want to use the site less. I'm not against the change being implemented, but if we could keep the old format instead of forcing it upon people, that would be nice. Today I logged in and wasn't able to switch it back.

While I agree they should listen to users in terms of not implementing Eclipse, I would say saying they don't care at all is a bit of an exaggeration.

You're right, let's just ignore the fact that they've been mentioning future updates that are in-line with many of the requests the community has been asking for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And? That "literally" has nothing to do with how well or poorly they listen to the community, and it doesn't address what I commented. If you're not going to contribute anything else other than "Their name is Deviantart" then we're pretty much done with this conversation.

Listen, they have literally no respect and don't care. If you want proof, then you can look at the site as a whole and tell me once when they have listened to their customers. File a report on a deviation and they'll ignore it.

As someone who has gotten speedy help from support time and time again, I still think saying they don't listen to their customers at all is an exaggeration. But at this point let's agree to disagree.

Have the dA short codes changed? Like before I could say :icon name: and get the icon of the user or group like . I haven't been able to get that to work in custom widgets yet on my profile. I like to keep an organized list of groups I belong too otherwise it just becomes a mess.

Amaryllex In reply to Leaf-nin [2019-06-28 12:44:03 +0000 UTC]
When editing your custom box, click "Edit content" --> "Add Emoticon or Avatar", then either click "Avatars" and choose the user/group you need, or click the Search sign and type the name on your own. If you type it correctly, after clicking "Enter" on your keyboard the user's icon will show. You choose it and just click "Done".
To tag a user/group in a journal/status/comment you do the same steps. While in case of tagging users/groups in descriptions to artworks, seems like the principle hasn't changed from the old one, yet.

If you don't mind, I'll let you know how to do this a lil later when I get to my laptop. Recently I managed to make icons of users and groups work on my page in Eclipse, just not sure I'll be able to give the instruction by memory.

great, now i can block every low tier fetish user on the planet (or at least most!)
low tier basically means the literal disgusting stuff, WE is the border of low and regular and B(breast)E sorta goes somewhere around not low tier, i never really thought it out yet because i'm not one of these types of people

Whilst I totally get the appeal of the "muted tags" feature and would likely use it myself, I'm just curious as to how you're going to police the uploaded material to make sure it matches the tags it's labeled with? We've seen artist go through and several dozen hashtags claiming their work to be something that it very clearly isn't. Is anything going to be done to make sure that if something is mislabeled that it will put in the proper catagory?

Let's not forget the people who don't tag at all, their art doesn't get filtered.

Weezleton In reply to TheGearWork [2019-06-28 05:28:48 +0000 UTC]
Personally I'm hoping people will avoid mass tagging since it now raises the chance of their art being blocked by tag muting.
But I agree with the concern and hope they think about it, especially with people who don't tag probably so it'd get past muting.

Great change! Sounds nice for all who use muted tags!
But what strikes me more is the alleged setting of "scroll through pages" ... as if there is any other chance!?!? Will we get pages back? I would scream of joy if yes, so PLEASE make it true and make an end of scrolling! I want pages and pagenumbers back with a "click through pages"!

Why some people are thanking again for a single favorite I gave them?
Is it a bug?
As for Eclipse, I'm impatient to come soon and I stay far from the reviews.

Oh, and my standard "please stop screwing us over" comment:
- Please allow us to mass edit our favorites, like in the current site.
- Please put pagination back in, infinite scrolling slows down browsers and makes it very difficult to efficiently find things. Infinite scrolling makes large folders essentially unmanageable.
- Please put "watch" back in with feedback notifications. Having watch as a separate tab will drive down followers' engagement with our art. I have already seen an increasingly drastic change in my engagement numbers since more and more people have started switching to Eclipse. The farther something is from the hub of a website, the less likely it is to be seen; the notifications center is the hub of this website. A relatively small portion of people are going to take the time to click through to a separate page for their watch feed; as I said, I'm already seeing the effects of this firsthand. The current (legacy) setup puts our art right at the top of the page every person goes to when they log in. Keep it that way. Or is our followers actually seeing our art when it's uploaded not the point?
- Please add HTML custom code back into custom boxes.
And everyone reading this: go check out Artri.se !! It's an in-progress site being made by disgruntled dA users. It looks very promising!!

Just gonna copy my comment from the team journal posted on this earlier this week:
Having a limit on the tags renders this ridiculously unhelpful, especially with such a low number as only 100. Fetish artists alone use a massive number of variations to tag their work with, the 100 slots will quickly fill up with those variations. Why do you think putting a limit on it is useful? Contemporaries like Twitter have no cap on the number of muted phrases you can add. Yet another area where you've added features that look good but are rendered completely ineffective by how limited they are.
Coder Ryan Thaut literally made a filter add-on for browsers that block all art with a blacklisted tag or from blacklisted artists immediately. Blacklisting an artist takes a single click on any upload of theirs, and blacklisting tags is only a couple of steps more (having to go into the add-on itself to add them). Incredibly simple, fast, and effective. Why can't you do the same?

Why are the stats on the top my profile in singular form - Watcher instead of Watchers, Page View instead of Page Views, etc.? Is it a bug or another weird stylistic choice?
Btw Thank you for muted tags!

I really like the double click option to remove stacks quickly and smoothly in DA green, it seems like a small thing, but it gets pretty annoying when you want to remove lots of stuff in a row in Eclipse.

As previously said by several reviewers, thank you for the Muted Tags, but :
• A limit of 100 tags is not enough , there are thousands of disgusting fetishes that a large part of us want to avoid when we browse art.
• Some fetish/porn/violent/etc art are not even tagged. We cannot avoid them if you do not help us. Hire moderators to prevent DA becoming the new FA, decide to a minimum of mandatory tags to use, create a fetish category that we can easily mute, or let users to propose tags for a deviation. If not, you must have a +18 warning for non registered users.
We are sick of inflate, vore, tickling, feet or genital close up, etc.

" create a fetish category that we can easily mute, or let users to propose tags for a deviation" 100% agree, I'm having trouble blocking all the fetish art for just "slime". There's one with only the tag 'slime' on it, others with no tags, and then even more that have tags I haven't blocked yet because I didn't realize it was a thing. >~<
