Premium Members can now use Google Analytics to get meaningful insight about the traffic to their deviantART Profile! Using our new Google Analytics integration, you can access comprehensive statistics about your audience, traffic, and art.

Get Deeper Insight Into Your deviantART Traffic

By enabling the feature on your profile, you can now use Google Analytics to get a better grasp on the deviantART experience that you’ve created for your audience!

  • Understand what types of people are organically drawn to your work. Where do they live? How long are they on your page?
  • See the impact of the marketing you do outside of deviantART. When you share your deviantART work and links in other networks and sites, you’ll be able to track the traffic back to your Journals, Gallery, Profile, and much more!
  • Understand what your visitors are looking at when they’re on your Profile and even for how long! Sometimes visitor trends are unclear until you can see the bigger picture.
  • Evaluate the difference in attention you get for some types of work versus others.
  • See a direct correlation between your marketing activities to deviation submissions and spikes in traffic to your Journals, artwork, or Profile pages.

Learn More About Your Audience Knowing who is engaging with your Profile can help you make decisions about where to hang out, what Groups to join, and other things you might want to share with your audience.

Watch Realtime Activity Flow To Your Profile

Google's realtime reports allow you to sit back and watch activity happening on your content right this second.

View Traffic Stats For Your Content

Google Analytics allows you to dive into traffic stats for deviations, Journals, Galleries, Collections, and other areas of your Profile Page. See which deviations are the most popular today and find out where that traffic is coming from.

Track and Analyze Your Watches and Favourites

Our Google Analytics integration tracks when someone watches or adds your artwork to their favourites, allowing you to view charts and statistics of these events. How many favourites did Reddit traffic give you this week? How many new watchers did you gain last weekend after submitting your newest deviation? Did you gain more watchers this month or last month?

Favourites and Watches are available under Google Analytics' "Events" reports.

...And A Ton Of Other Reports

Here's just a sample of some of the stats you can see:

  • Traffic charts, graphs, and statistics by date
  • Traffic demographics (geographic locations, languages...)
  • Visitor stats (new visitors, returning visitors, time spent on pages, number of pages viewed, bounce rates...)
  • Top sites and social networks sending you traffic and, for some social networks, the individual posts that are linking to your content
  • Search engine keywords people are using to find your Profile Page and content

Measure How Your Activity Impacts Your Audience Growth

Google Analytics can help you make decisions on how you manage your deviations. It can also allow you to see the impact of your on site activities.

  • If you find that your audience is more active on certain days or times, you’ll be able to determine a schedule for posting new art or Journals.

  • Perhaps you’ll find that the more you comment, the more you see your pageviews and watch list jump.
  • If commenting, and critiquing others’ artwork for example, helps increase the level of activity on your Profile, perhaps you’ll decide to do this more frequently.

More trouble than it is worth, Dan.  Why couldn't dA integrate it onto the site instead of with the site?  I'd rather be able to look at 'more stats' and see a tab for the analytics data there.  It would only really require one more 'click here to allow dA to use this info' box, wouldn't it?

How was that comment rude?
I agree with your sentiment, there is no need for people to be rude in a journal reply, but seriously, there are some extremely rude and insulting comments in this journal that you could direct your comment at , rather than at super-incognito's quite benign reply.

It seems a little selective of you. There is a comment posted shortly after this one where someone calls someone else a 'Pedantic bastard'. Far worse than this comment. If you take the time to go through and police the place properly you will find a lot worse than that, posted deliberately to be offensive
I realise you are not DA staff, but you are one of their beta testers, so in some ways, your own actions do reflect on DA.

I didn't come back to this article after I posted my reply, therefore, didn't see the comment. You can't judge me for something I had no knowledge about.

Also, don't represent dA, a ton of people are beta testers. They have no authority over regular members, so don't treat me like I should be going around telling people how to act. My actions don't represent dA.

The equality you are talking about would be possible only when the website would turn into pay for use kind for everyone. Then all features would be available for everyone. Like for a  free for use website without any limitations of how many accounts you may have and how many pictures you can upload, I think dA provides a lot of free features anyway.

Maleficus-Animus In reply to scourge1212 [2014-03-20 01:42:54 +0000 UTC]

Oh, my mistake, I've no problem spelling it out for you since you asked.

"this is just another way of wasting ur money"
I don't consider paying for deviantArt as a waste of money, I consider it as a way of supporting a broad community of unrecognized artists by giving them a place to express themselves, not too much unlike what I needed and was welcomed with when I first came across this site years ago.

"u need to be a premium member they are just trying to make you buy a premium"
I buy my premium membership to support the people who do not and I also Gift premiums to my friends.
So, in essence, my comment still holds true, perhaps you need to make better friends. I wouldn't mind being your friend if you would at least consider my words for a moment.

Blessed Be.
-M.

If your friends think that "Perhaps you should make better friends.   Idunno." is cool and proper, perhaps you need new friends as well. Also, "Blessed Be. -M." nice sign off, too bad your username is right there. Though against scourge, if people don't buy premium, Deviantart will need more adds to sustain itself which we don't exactly want. "hurrdurr but i has adblock lelz" then Deviantart isn't paid and it will eventually run out of funding

"you're just pulling the jackass"
I agree with you, I am, but the difference is that I'm willing to admit it.
