Yep, but the real question is if full-head latex masks really DID exist back in 1897? (like in the movie)
Or if not that, a different mask of some sort would have worked for his sailor disguise.

Well there were a couple invention inconsistencies in the movie. Like the phonograph and the records. They didn't exactly exist then either.
But for all we know, Basil could have made the mask himself. He is a brilliant chemist.
