Characters are from Xenosaga ( Episode III )

There are over 840 feathers in each of Wilhelm's wings, making a total of approximately 1700.

You say you like to learn things on your own, so get with it and mosey on down with some tutorials. You don't want critique, so I'm not going to comment any further on this piece.
See, the thing is Danny, if you're not going to accept outside help, you're not going to get better. It's been a year since we last spoke and while your compositions are righteous, I just haven't seen a real difference in your pictures. You have to start thinking whats more important to you. Improving your art? Or getting "oh that's nice" comments all the time. Gosh... I sometimes wonder why I still bother?
I guess its because you have so much potential and you're throwing it away and I hate to see waste.
But nevermind, you're probably going to get pissed off with this comment, rage block me, tell me off and god knows whatever else. You know what they say though... no good deed goes unpunished.

sorry, but I skipped the majority of your comment because it's a waste of my time.
there is no "better than" in art. the only difference between one picture and another is the taste of the person looking at it.
I don't care about getting "better" or if people think I need improved, I care about how much fun the picture was to make.
I don't understand why people keep forcing critiques on me. I consider it rude. the "quality" of my art is not a life or death situation and there is no need whatsoever for people to nail me into the dirt about getting help. you'd think I had a drug problem or something. I like critiques on my writing, but people ignore that and come badger me over my art because they can't stand the notion that somebody doesn't want their opinion.

I didn't exactly count them, each feather was on it's own layer and I was getting up to "Layer 842" and such and had to merge the wings because photoshop couldn't handle that many.
