What better way to start April than with... April! Here I'm trying my hand again at settling for a drawing style. I'm feeling a lot more confident drawing now, but I still want to experiment more. I'm quite happy with this piece, in fact! I even tried to mimic the look of a camera lens recording her. And lastly, this piece is also inspired not only by the character itself, but a cosplayer named Li Kovacs! She pulled off such an amazing cosplay of April O'Neil, that I just HAD to try my hand at drawing her (at least I tried!). Check her out if you haven't.

Thanks. I aimed to not show cleavage and in turn make it a bit more realistic. I could have drawn her like that if I wanted to, but since I'm trying to capture the feeling of a particular cosplay I decided to draw it like this instead. In fact, Li Kovacs herself explained something similar in her own picture.

Well, I don't know whoΒ Li Kovacs is but the April O'Neil of the 1987 cartoon definately had cleavage and some women are in fact naturally endowed via their breasts but it's your art and it's still a decent pic. We seriously need more 1987 April O'Neil art ya knows? ^_^
