Description Heavy rains and whipping wind follow a storm in the Morrison area, during the Jurassic. A pair of Allosaurus cock their heads and listen to the sounds of thunder, and are ill at ease as lightning lances across the sky above them. A wandering Apatosaurus ajax, caught alone as the rain set in, raises its neck and watches the sky as storm winds pull at the forest's trees around them.

Just some more paleoart I knocked out in my free time. I liked the idea of dinosaurs caught out in a storm, and showing these animals in a world in which the forces of nature were larger than them, rather than them being snarling at one another and larger than life. And I got to draw more A. fragilis artwork; With Allosaurus essentially being my favorite dinosaur, this was a plus.

Hope you enjoy! And if you do, I hope you give feedback on what you did or perhaps didn't like

Nice drawing! My favorite part is how the two Allosaurus have slightly different colors, with the one in the foreground having yellow on its jaw and the one in the background having a striped tail. But I think the far one's hip joint is a bit too far back, and it would be nice to see terrain that varies more in height.

Fair points, and I'm glad you like it! It's an older piece, at least compared to what I've learned studying the anatomy of these animals, and I have newer pieces that are much more accurate/detailed. Background elements have never been my strong suit, admittedly, though I've tried to improve on it over time

Although it is very rainy, the Allosaurus in the foreground makes the impression he is brimming with strength, while the other one seems to enjoy the "little shower" from above.

You're welcome. Allosaurus is always a fun to draw for myself too.

that's a really nice artwork, but that color scheme resembles of Big Al from WWD special.

Funny, I actually didn't use any references from the WWD show, but based it mostly off another Allosaur I did, which drew more from the Planet Dinosaur Allosaurus. In fact, the coloration of this one is only similar to Big Al in the red lacrimal hornlets, which are my favorite way to color them anyway, as it accentuates how visually striking they are.

I feel like I came across too harsh not my intent, I actually thought it was funny since I was trying not to mimick the Planet Dinosaur A. fragilis too much
I really do thank you for the compliment!
