She was zigzagging through the crowd, catching up to a friend. It was those eyes and her care free aura that caught my attention. I briskly walked in front of her... she got a bit confused. But with a smile, she said yes. I think her friend was teasing her when she posed for me, but she held her own and I got the expression I wanted.Related content

I did have a question I was hoping you could answer! How did you achieve the blurring of the background? It's really a nice technique!

The background blur is what you call 'bokeh' ... and you get this by making sure that you have a shallow depth of field (photography term). Basically you achieve this by using a lens that has a very large aperture (like f1.4). There's more to this, but this is a good start.

Ahh okay, see my problem is when I do this, my background is sharp but my subject is blurry. :/
About how far and how much do I need to zoom in, would you think?
