It's almost as if ParaPines predicted that episode--- or Hirsch learned of it and felt inspired to somehow satisfy ParaPines shippers.
Because nothing boosts TV show ratings like suggested boy-on-boy action (reverse CPR) XD...

I think Hirsch does know of the pairings. I know he definitely knows about pinecest .__. the great thing about this guy is that he's letting it go. The only thing he yells at the fandom for is spoilers.
Although I have MANY reasons behind why parapines is real in connection to hirsch. care to hear?

First of all, Hirsch got the full idea for Gravity Falls when he was in Oregon working for Laika. Laika made ParaNorman. Also, in the original concept art of Dipper, he had a red zip up hoodie EXACTLY the same as Norman's hoodie.
