I created a layer "Color" mode over it and did the base color, than I repainted it by creating different layers mode over this one!

You went the grayscale route then color, that's what I normally do...this time I'm trying lineart -> flat colors -> finish (new for me), and it's killing me a little bit

I don't have o way to "always do", i usually go from flat colors too, it's a pretty fun process, some times i try from a nolines sketch(this one i'm not really good)
