I've been feeling really uninspired and have been really unhappy with my work lately, but I think today that all changed. Today I made an agreement to let go of a huge marijuana addiction of mine (you're in denial if you think you can't become addicted and if you think that weed isn't a drug). I've been consistently high on a daily basis for three years, and it feels amazing to take a deep breath of fresh air and to feel confident that I can kick this addiction. I can only imagine what I could have accomplished over the last three years had I not sat on my ass high half of the time. BIIIIIIIIIG GULP!This is Alex, a really inspiring and beautiful straight ally. It feels good to be letting go of addictions and prejudices lately. You should give it a try.

I hope you have had good luck with becoming more lucid. I had this issue and the worst part for me was irritability until my system cleared. I agree about your above statement, I think more people should.

It's a great piece of work, but mostly I wanted to congratulate you on a huge life decision. I hope that you will have a lot of support and encouragement from friends and family. I applaud you, just as I applaud your photography. And I strongly suggest you purchase -- and continue playing -- the Piaf song, I Regret Nothing, until it becomes a mantra, as easy and natural as an inhale. I have lots of signs around my desk; I'm a sign person. And one of my oldest, and favorites, begins, "There is no such thing as failure, there is only sweet and sour reality. And more is learned from the sour oftentimes, than from the sweet."
In any case: your photography. I cannot believe that it suffered one iota. I believe you must be a natural photographer. I have marveled each and every time at how your subjects glow from within. Man, woman or reptile, they are uniformly stunning. I always think -- Every. Single. Time. Every. Single. Photograph. -- that you must have just made crazy/mad/passionate/gentle love with them, and now want more than anything to show the world how utterly beautiful they are.
You make this world a more glorious place. I think your body must contain a huge soul.

Bowen, and many other therapists, believe that anything can be an addiction. In other words, a triangle to help dismantle anxiety. The problem is that those points tend to be permanent. (Curse of being a counseling major!)
Good luck on your recovery journey! Inspirations, like the photo you took, help keep one on the proverbial straight and narrow path.
