Description The concept behind this project is the idea that we are all connected to the things around us because we all came from the same thing and in the end we return to the same place when we die. Life is sustained from the soil, and in the end we become the soil to continue sustaining that life.

The position of the model is something that really called my attention. In my view it's a position of submission and respect regarding the nature represented by the trees (in opposition, the trees that surround him are higher and somehow imposing in relation to the model). This "act of submission" is perhaps motivated by the feeling of impotence, inability to control the nature ( we are very "small" when compared to the power of nature) and by the fact that we are all originated from it and thereby we owe at least a bit of respect (as we owe toward our parents).
Other thing would be the position of emerging from the water. For me, it shows the fact that doesn’t matter how civilized or modern, doesn’t matter how many building we made, the clothes we use, the technology and everything made by humans we are always going to be dependent of the nature (it looks like the model in the picture is trying to separate from the water, like we, human beings, try to be most independent as possible of the nature, but we will never going to be completely independent, there is always going to have β€œa piece of our body touching the water”), and the water is the best element to represent it (we can’t live without it, we were originated from it according to the science).
The lightening is also amazing, impacting and inspires a bit o compassion (as the β€œspectator” was sorry for the condition of human beings that try to be so independent and think they are superior, but in the end are as small as any other animal).
At long last, this isn’t just a picture, it’s definitely a masterpiece! Thanks for sharing such stunning artwork!

Lol way to overthink it.Β  Someone's trying a liiiiittle too hard to sound smart, and instead it comes off as pretentious :-P

Well, art is all about a manifestation of the human mind and since it's based on perceptions that are personal and subjective, each work of art will have a different meaning for each observer. As I wrote in my profile I'm not a professional artist or critic, much less i'm trying to sound smart (something I care little since i don't have contact with anyone here and it would not add anything in my life), but as he asked for a critique I decided to write what message that photography at that particular time transmitted to me . If the artist meant it or not, I honestly don't know, but that's what it made me feel and think at that moment. If I "overthought" its because his work made me overthink.

The first thing that leaps out at me is the positioning and centering of the foreground figure. It's placement is perfect and the rounded figure makes the stark stalks in the background all the more striking. I enjoy the coloring of the model and the subtle coloring of the water, as well. The sort of "dulled-down" desaturation really gives the piece a fantastic feel!

My only critical "thing" is the model's feet. They look as though there is only one emerging from the water. I know it's a small thing but it's a bit distracting. You've got a fantastic image here so that one little thing is a VERY small thing. Great image!

Submission can definitely be seen as erotic to many people.

I like how this pose is both protective and vulnerable - always good when you can get opposites pulling. When I looked at the series I tend to think of water with birth and ground with death more, but those are obvious relations. The concept of connections is great and this is a compelling interpretation. I've been listening to Lennon lately and "we all shine on" so I like the idea that the connections are not only symbolic but very literal!

Thank you for that lovely comment! I wish you could see the rest of the series of "life" photos, but I took them down at the models request. They are so beautiful, but I am very biased with this particular model. There is a lot of love in these photographs.
