Description My Magic Parody Comics

Hoarding Dragon + Elixir Of Immortality . It's not necessarily a GOOD combo, but there's some logic to it. If your opponent kills off the dragon, they know for a fact that you'll be given quick access to +5 life and that the dragon (along with the rest of your graveyard and the Elixir) will be shuffled back into the library. There are probably far better ways to take advantage of the Dragon's ability, but I haven't put much thought into it.

This comic was inspired by my thinking of Gollum while looking at the Hoarding Dragon in a comic shop's 2011 binder, and then almost immediately realizing I was being stupid for not thinking of Smaug first. I don't mention Smaug by name in the comic because Smaug is a bit more obscure than Gollum these days and this is already referential humor within referential humor

This dragon surely spent too much time alone, look at these eyes!  I wouldn't trust him in my board

In my deck he usually hoard my one and only 'Nevinyrral's Disk' or a 'Steel Hellkite', it may look like a great idea at first until Hoarding Dragon take a path to exile with my stuff. Now that I type it, it kind look like a comic, if you find it interesting feel free to do it

You do really god facial expressions. The only character in your three magic comics who dosen't have good ones is the Mitotic slime, since it has, umm, no face.

Lol! Dude, do you know Norse mythology by any chance? If you don't I'll tell you why I'm asking. You see, it is believed that Tolken's Character's Golem and Smaug are both inspired by Fafnir. You see, Fafnir was a dwarf who betrayed everyone for treasure, and then to better guard the treasure, he ran away into the wilderness with it (that's Golem's part). Smaug's is as follows: Fafnir became so corrupted that he turned into a serpent, which is the Norse symbol for greed. Eventually he is killed by a group of dwarves who want to reclaim the treasure. I just laughed when I saw your Gollem/Smaug analogy. Geeze, I just went total herd. -.-*

None the less, I like this comic! Well done!

The only reason that Smaug is less known then Gollum is because he wasn't in several recent(ish) movies. If Smaug gets a good showing in Hobbit, then out come the tshirts, mugs, and dragon hoard one-liners. So far, Smaug hasn't done anything as awesome as the "Gollum's MTV award speech."

...dude, the M:TG comics you're doing on here are making me feel old...because I don't know any of the cards from the newer sets... ;_;

*shuffles back over to his binders to fiddle with his cards from sets like Revised Edition, back before cards had those fancy-shmancy little icon thingies and we had to trudge uphill both ways to get them mumblemumble...* XD

Sageofotherworlds [2010-07-27 02:46:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah so far Platinum Angel seems to be the best grab for the dragon. Still I really like those elixirs... XD You and I both got back into magic around the same time it seems XD

But I'm doing my best to keep it out of my art... though the concept of drawing the Phylactery lich hiding his Phylactery on an Ornithopter is kinda funny...

Yeah, that a useless idea, get the sword of vengeance instead. Always remember that damage>life, life won't let you win but damage will.

You seem to have difficulty with Lord of the Rings characters. First you have Frodo burning your Baneslayer, now Smaug/Gollum is keeping your Elixer when you need it to get out of Lava Axe range. Let's hope Ring Wraiths...er, spectres don't start stealing your rings of brighthearth...er, hand.

I always used it to get Platinum Angel, and if it go sent back to my hand, or removed, I would just sacrifice it to Bloodthrone, or Fling it.
