Famous puzzle-master Scott Kim came up with this symmetric packing of a 7 x 7 x 7 cube into 23 boxes of various sizes. No two boxes share their entire edge, so this is a "Motley Packing." In April 2018, Scott gave a workshop where we folded and taped together clear plastic models of this dissection, which Martin Gardner once said was "unique of its symmetry type" (120° rotation-invariant). I decided to animate this using Mathematica. Look closely: the five red cubes line up along the main diagonal!
