It's true, really. This can be said for certain reboots of shows you've loved like The Powerpuff Girls. The 2016 reboot of the show had an episode (Horn Sweet Horn that was intended to have a unicorn get its horn, but the way it was executed offended fans of the show, as well as people in the LGBTQ+ community. The episode's writer (Emily Brundige) shortly apologised for it, and explained that CN decided to market the episode as such.
The same can be said for Thomas and the Magic Railroad. People may argue that Britt Allcroft (creator of the film) had good intentions but as RailfanBronyMedia once said "Good intentions mean NOTHING if the end result is ATROCIOUS!" In short, it's not the INTENTION that matters when a TV show or film is made, it's how it's EXECUTED. In the words of Princess Celestia "You had good intentions, Twilight. But the truth is always better than a well thought out lie."
