After many streamcycles of unfair treatment of the Voidborn population, a Deepspace Leviathan by the name of Genesis stood against her old queen and struck her down by the shock of the Voidborns. As a result of Genesis' victory, she got to take the position, powers, and form off of her old gueen.
Shortly after this, the Pokémon universe got integrated into the Cipherian Realms, which allowed her to choose an alternate form that is less frightening to look at by mortals, that being Giratina in this case.

It was a combination of the Gen4 remakes and one of my artist's characters that inspired me to commission art for Genesis here, who only had a ref in my memory since 2016.
