Description
The Knabstrupper is a classical European warmblood, and displays great strength of heart and dramatic paces. Knabstrups have unusual coat coloration, usually displaying leopard spots or blanket spot, similar to the american Appaloosa. Both the Knabstrupper and the Appaloosa are thought to have descended from Spanish stock, perhaps even Lipizzaners, which were thought to have displayed leopard spot in the not so distant past.
