Description I ended up using over 100 feathers to create this little guy (or girl - take your pick). It's handmade paper mache and trimmed peacock feathers. A bit more expensive to create than my other bird masks.

Thanks. The paper mache, yes. Peacock feathers are easy to work with though. Just some trimming and layering. They're so naturally beautiful. A little expensive though.

Thanks Prim. I like this one too. I was going to finish two at the same time but it took more blue feathers than I thought, so the second is on hold. Ah well, someone wants a dark fairy mask so I'm working on that until more blue arrive.

This is so lovely  What do you use as glue?

DaraGallery In reply to SagittariArte [2014-03-24 01:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Ty. A little non toxic white glue in with the flour/water paper mache paste and hot glue/jewelers glue for the feathers and embellishments.

Thanks! The beak got a little warped during forming it but otherwise I'm really pleased.

You're welcome   I think it's the beak that really makes the piece - it has a natural, textured look and is really something quite different.  It was one of the things that caught my eye (along with the gorgeous colours.)
