Description
Don't we all want more of that?
Continued my exploration with watercolour (this is my second piece of work). Trying to do something a bit more technical without losing the fluidity and softness of watercolour. Quite happy with how it turned out. (Scanner messed up the colours a little though).
Watercolour, white gel pen, black ball point pen, 2H pencil
Time taken: about 3 hrs
Size: A4
Hope you guys like it!
Ps. This is up for sale! PM me for more details

This is a very interesting concept, if you were to do another version of this piece I would pay closer attention to the angle of the fingers compared to the blast on the other side of the head. With the angle the fingers are slanted, the splatter patter on the opposite side would actually be higher. Other than that you did a really phenomenal job with the water colours, I've always had a hard time using them! Thanks for sharing!

Didn't notice that at all until you mentioned it.
Thanks for the advice!

what a beautiful and excellent work I'm getting started right now with water colour, and maybe you can give me a hint how you paint large dark areas? I mean the pigments hard so hard to put evenly over a large black area.
Oh and I really like the colour of his skin

Thank Jule. I just started using watercolour as well to be honest. But the biggest problem that made me stop using watercolour was the control of the colours. What I did was starting with something simple and mixing Β the colours with a bit more water. Personally I found it easier to spread the colour and to mix the same colour again.

The contrast between the details on the human figure and the messiness of the "artistic juice" makes this piece very interesting to me. I like the shading a lot too, and I'd like to know how you managed to keep the paper so white lol

Thank you Ariadna. The contrast was what I was aiming for! 'White' as in clean? I put scrap paper on areas where I was not painting to avoid 'accidents'

You're very welcome!!
Yes, I meant clean Β The scrap paper sounds like a reasonable idea. I'll have to try it myself!! Thanks!

Ok good job, but it's not an original idea. I have seen a similar, actually more similar ones even years ago.

I agree that there are similar ones out there. Like I said in the description I am new to watercolour so I am focusing on trying out different techniques. Thank you for viewing and commenting. Happy drawing
