I actually took their skin color palettes from their anime palettes. Cyrus's tan-ish skin surprised me at first, but he is from Sunyshore, so it makes sense that he'd have a slightly tanned color.

That is true... However he did spend most of his life in a room working on machines therefore not really having time to go out and get vitamin D, plus when he did leave Sunnyshore he did just spend most of his time in the office. His official Ken art shows him pale... Sorry if it sound like I am bashing you but I think the Maxie skin color would match better in my opinion... But you dont have to change it if you dont want to

Sugimori's art style uses a very interesting (and unique) shading method that often involves the use of grey tones for skin - and primarily shadowing - that makes most people already in the lighter skin color spectrum look even paler. Look up Giovanni's Sugimori art and you'll see what I mean. Giovanni has a sort of olive-tan Italian skin color, yet he appears a grey-pale in Sugimori's art due to his paler and greater choices in color, and more importantly, shading and lighting technique. That's why I chose to follow the anime's color palettes, since there is no lighting or stylization issues with those.

Also, my brother has a naturally darker skin color than Cyrus does here (but only slightly darker), and he spends 90% of his time indoors. I also spend most of my time indoors (to the point that I have a vitamin D deficiency, lol) and am not much lighter than Cyrus. Just because he spends all his time indoors doesn't mean he can't have tan-ish skin, especially if he's from Sunyshore

Believe me, I'm a stickler for accuracy. Like I said, I pulled colors right out of the anime. I don't always trust Sugimori's color palette for the aforementioned reasons. I definitely thought the things you did about his color originally, but it does make sense considering his home city. It's grown on me. He's still pretty light-skinned, just not as pale as people seem to expect. I was shocked that Archie was lighter than him.

Sorry if it sounded like I was attacking your art... You seem to know what you are doing... Based on your knowledge what shade would N be since he is very much like Cyrus with the exception of not living in a sunny place

No worries, you had a legitimate question on a canon-basis; it was a perfectly sensible inquiry! 

To answer that, honestly, again, I'd just follow the anime. Here's an image as an example. So long as you find a good image that has proper lighting (no harsh light or dark rooms, basically), you can usually rely on the anime to be pretty good about coloration (although I can't say the anime is very accurate about anything else).

Yeah that is probably what made it hard for me to accept since other fan-art and art depict Cyrus and Maxie as the lightest and Archie and Giovanni as the darkest... However I guess yours is pretty accurate to what he would really be
