Okay, I have promised by Ben 10 fan group that I would try doing an alternate design for a Ben 10 sequel in order to make up for the... "weird" (to remain diplomatic) designs they gave to the characters in Omniverse. Here is a first try, with a redesign of the main character, Ben Tennyson. I apologize for the lack of quality.I borrowed elements from both Omniverse, the original show and designs shown to me by my friend Majortech. I really hope he doesn't mind; if he does, I will remove this art.

Welll, how to put it...
I think the concept could very well end up being a crappy idea, but in the end they dealt with it rather well compared to what they could have done. Overall, it was pretty daring from the writers to do something actually new instead of just keep adding aliens like before.
Now, I have mixed feelings on the Ultimates themselves: I felt a lot of them were slightly disappointing, due to being just redesigns of the originals with really few improvements (particularly Ultimate Big Chill and Ultimate Wildmutt). Others on the other hand, like Ultimate Humongousaur and Ultimate Echo Echo, were absolutely awesome.
Overall, I think they were a good addition to the show, though I wish they had been made much more powerful for some and be given a major weakness to justify Ben not using them all the time. Basically, make them a bit of the Ben 10 equivalent of DBZ's Super-Sayen or Bleach's Bankai: VERY powerful, but dangerous to use and to keep as a last resort.
So yeah, while I do have some criticisms about them, I still liked them, and was mad when they removed them. Especially since the new Omnitrix, despite being supposely more advancedΒ than both the Original Omnitrix and Ultimatrix, SUCKS.
