Description finally finished the forest elf reference sheet, it has been a looong time...

Forest Elves, which are part of the High Elfin, are the most common Elfin. Despite their name, only a small percentage of them are really forest dwellers. Most Forest Elves are land-owning farmers, living between their fields, gardens and meadows on open land.

Like all Elfin, Forest Elves are Free People. Their society is strongly power-oriented, patriarchal and patrilinear, men are allowed to have several wives (depending on their wealth).

Thex live in "villages", which are actually rather loose bonds between several farms that are so much far away from each other than they need half a day just to reach the other house. There are 3 or 4 such farms in a "village", and usually the patriarchs of such a village are either siblings, cousins or connected through marriage (i.e. one of the wives of patriarch nr. 1 is the eldest daughter of patriarch nr. 2). A village usually is under the protection of a Forest Elf noble (which is in someway often also somehow related to the patriarchs in the village) and has to pay taxes for this protection. There is no king or queen over the nobles nowadays, but in ancient times there used to be a Forest King, who lived in the Tree Tower of the northern Woods.

A Forest Elven household usually consists of a patriarch, his wives (which have ranks, with the eldest/the first wife being the highest in rank), their children, and many beasten slaves (which also get ranks, with the eldest male being the highest in rank). Sometimes, the patriarch's unmarried brothers and sisters belong to the household too (if his parents happen to be dead). Rich patriarchs can also have Elfin servants and maids as well as guards (free and paid for their work).

Forest Elves are of slender, willowy built. Males are taller and stronger than females, often reaching a height of 2 meters and more. The male hands have longer ring fingers, while the females have longer index fingers (in contrary to the Dark Elves). Forest Elves have red to dark brown hair, sometimes dark blond, and a skin colour that can range between light (and mostly freckled) and dark tan. Although they are omnivourous, they lack canine teeth (at least most of them do).

Forest Elves are capable of Magic, and they are often quite powerful mages, but mostly use their abilities only to enhance the fertility of the lands they work, to heal cattle, and to provide basic medical help in case of injury.

Though the most numerous Elfin people, the Forest Elves are sometimes looked down upon by other Elfin, because of their "lack" of culture - they are hardly interested in arts, war, or music, except in their very basic form. But since Forest Elves produce almost all of the nutrition goods and all the "cultivated" Elfin cities depend on them, the Forest Elves are not insulted openly with this opinion.

The small amount of these people that actually live in the forest have "wilder" traditions, being hunters and gatherers, and have smaller households. Also, in these smaller communities the Beasten slaves are sometimes regarded as members of the family and treated in a nicer way. A few of these small communities have a stable income through the breeding of riding antilopes (sometimes also called unicorns, because the long horns of the antilopes break easily, so that they often have none - or just one horn left), which are considered the best mounts.

They worship the fertility gods Ardo and Raja, and also Dana, the Goddess of the Well.
