Description Darion in his times in Naggaroth, long time ago.

He is a Druchii - a Dark Elf from the Warhammer Fantasy world (which belongs to Games Workshop). The beast he is riding is called a nauglir (Cold One), a dinosaur-like reptile.

To read his (somewhat Malus-Darkblade-inspired, violent, full of fighting and killing, Cult of Pleasure themed, with numerous hints - and not only hints, but since it is M16+, it is a bit toned down - at bdsm, drug and alcohol overuse, non-con slavery, torture, and not-only-heterosexual behaviour) story, click [link] ... and then continue to the next chapters. There are 19 of them till now, and it will be more.

Darion, (originally he was called Makareth, as anybody who had read my fan-fiction works about him might know - but Darion is an abbreviation of his true name that was given to him even before he was born: Dharoriour, "born of dark magic", or "blood of dark magic"), is my RPG character (and I am also thinking about painting my Highborn on Cold One, one of the heroes in my army, like him... Or maybe like another character of the story... But my army is unpainted for the most part anyway since playing is more fun than painting...). By now, he pretends that he is a High Elf, travels the Old World with a bunch of crazy Slaanesh cultists, drinks lots of wine and spirits to forget the fact that he has to spend most of his time with lowly animals - humans - and kills beastmen, undead, orcs and human villagers alike, as long as he is paid for it... And dreams of learning to cast spells. But at some point in his life he had earned a title of a noble and had been a Cold One Knight. Well, for a rather short time. He is an unlucky fellow.

He is not depicted in full Cold One Knight attire here - the helmet is missing as well as the shield and the lance; on the picture, he is just traveling, not going to war. Why did he draw his sword then? Because he likes to look at it (he just recently got this sword at this point of the story), and is bored by the journey. This character is generally bored if he doesn't get to either fight, drink alcoholic beverages, or force himself on Asur slave girls (he hasn't been a Cold One Knight for a time long enough to lose alll skin sensitivity yet - they do after some time, because of the nauglir poison they have to coat their skin in to prevent being eaten by the reptiles... poor creatures, these Cold One Knights lol).

Magnificient! Your style is deft and lovely detailed. The dark shading lend so much character to your pieces.

Please pardon me asking, but would you by any chance be interested in helping out the volunteer project known as the Ninth Age (T9A for short: www.the-ninth-age.com/ )? It is the spiritual successor of Warhammer Fantasy, run by 300+ volunteer contributors all tinkering in their spare time, and it aims to go even further than Warhammer did along the paths of historically based dark fantasy smΓΆrgΓ₯sbord setting: i.imgur.com/dlmQkB6.jpg

For one thing, T9A is the perfect way for what used to be Warhammer fantasy fanart to instead become official artwork for an emerging setting, and thus gain much more widespread exposure.

Moreover, T9A is always welcoming artists who want to join their art team, and your skill and distinctive designs would be great to have on board, should you ever be interested in joining and help develop this setting by putting your own distinctive mark upon its art pool. If you would by any chance be interested in donating old artworks of yours, then here is a quick guide for T9A gallery upload of art contributions: i.imgur.com/ORLCncV.jpg

I can get you in E-mail contact with the head of their art team, if ever you're interested.

At any rate, splendid artworks! Evocative to boot, and strongly coloured like a dream. Have a nice day.

Awesome drawing. I love the shadnig on a sword.

But I'm not sure of that row of spikes. It's not a good idea to have these in front and behind you when riding some rocky terrain and experiencing some turbulences. Poor guy could get some more holes than mother nature planned xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-11 17:37:43 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
The spikes are actually natural ones, growing out of the back of the reptile. The metal color is just adornment(paint with metal particles, a couple of metal rings) on them. Here is an example of the model that the reptile is based on: [link]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to DarionDamage [2013-01-11 18:27:37 +0000 UTC]

I don't collect the models but I once played Warhhammer game on my PC and it was awesome thing.

I see. still... I wouln't want to be jumping in my saddle during a ride throughout some rough region and seeing these getting closer to my body every few seconds xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-11 19:20:24 +0000 UTC]

That is true xD To be honest, riding these reptiles is dangerous anyway. Even to be able to approach one without being eaten you would need to cover yourself in poisonous slime of these reptiles. Over time, it numbs your skin and your senses, so that you don't smell, don't taste anything, and feel no touch (except very extreme kind of "touch" like pain). And if you are unlucky... the reptile will still eat you because it is in the mood for it. This way, the spikes are really not the worst problem... though I see your point. The reptiles are not horses, and not cars, too (two-legged movement is different to four-legged or wheels) - meaning that that the spikes would be even dangerous in usual terrain, not only the rough. But those are Dark Elves for you - danger and risk are their second and third names.

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to DarionDamage [2013-01-12 09:53:45 +0000 UTC]

That's weird. Usually nobility was the class that f****d all others, leaving all the luxury for themselves. Heare they can have no luxury so what kind of nobility are they? Who's exploiting them like that?

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-24 19:05:46 +0000 UTC]

The Witchking, I'd say. Though they do have luxury... The Cold One Knights just can't enjoy it properly. Also, not all nobles are Cold One Knights.

"Bad" races are usually coolest. I had a particulat liking for that wizard with tentacles sprouting out of his back. and for the chaos Furies. But I liked the Shaven and Orcs too. The squigs !

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-26 13:10:01 +0000 UTC]

I also tend to like "bad" races in Warhammer - Skaven are just adorable imo, Chaos looks cool, and Dark Elves are perfect. Orcs are the only ones that I don't like that much - though they can be fun. By the way, the "good" races, in Warhammer, are actually not really good neither

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to DarionDamage [2013-01-26 14:58:42 +0000 UTC]

Skaven have adorable woices, dont they-they?

As for the voices - Chaos Knights sound kind of like black metal vocalist Legion to me I am not that much fond of dark elves - just their reptilian friends... And what do you mean they aren't really good? I think there is a clear distinction between them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-26 17:35:41 +0000 UTC]

Black metal vocalist legion - LOL! Another reason to like Chaos.
Well what I meant with "not really good" is that basically, every faction in Warhammer is ready to risk thousands of lives for abstract ideas, for example. The "good" High Elves go on raids on the Dark Elves, just like vice versa. The Sigmar- or Ulric-believing humans of the Imperium are not much better than their Norse, Chaos God worshipping counterparts - they both delight in slaughter. In Warhammer, everything is about war - and war is never something good, if we try to stay realistic.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to DarionDamage [2013-01-26 19:35:08 +0000 UTC]

they do sound similar, don't they? xD

Well from my limited experience, they don't seem really that much. I mean there is a clear distinction. between the good and evil. I think for example in Starcraft universe it is much less clear, with Tarrans being banished criminals and other scum, Protoss willing to exterminate whole life on a planet just to get rid of their enemies there and Zerg wanting to consume and devour every single lifeform that exists.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-27 09:31:55 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, "Protoss willing to exterminate whole life on a planet just to get rid of their enemies there" - that is a very precise description of what the Imperium of man is ready to do anytime to get rid of heresy, both in Warhammer Fantasy and 40k. Just to provide an example
By the way, do you know that there are "Zerg" in Warhammer 40k? Called Tyranids xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to DarionDamage [2013-01-27 10:00:58 +0000 UTC]

Well but I suppose heretics are capable of summoning demons and stuff so it's kind of wise to fight against them. and they don't bombard planets until thgere is no life form there - at least in classic warhammer xD

Yes I know of them. It's a shame these figures are so expensive...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-27 12:18:51 +0000 UTC]

Look: [link] Though you are right not all life forms are the target, just the world's entire population And in Warhammer Fantasy it is less extreme, yes.
Of course it makes sense to fight heretics that provide danger to the population, no one would argue against this. Burning some poor hedge wizard, on the other side, an old man who knew how to heal wounds of some villagers... not so much. One the other side... The hedge wizard COULD summon a demon one day...
Also, I kind of like the "evil" (or not 100% perfectly good) side of the good guys in Warhammer because it makes them more realistic.

You mean the Tyranid models or generally all GW miniatures?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to DarionDamage [2013-01-27 18:28:43 +0000 UTC]

Well they'd make friends with Protoss for sure. Both races are great fans of planetary barbecue-thing. Well I am now kond of confused. I konw that historical inquisistion was crazy on hunting witches but as far as I remember the "good guys" of Warhammer had wizards on their side too. So how do they know which wizards to burn?

I mean especially the demons and the Lizardmen. I fell in love with the lizardmen them oment I saw them but I then I looked t the prices and my jaw dropped xD ...but some day!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DarionDamage In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-01-30 07:12:57 +0000 UTC]

IN the Empire, they make a strict distinction between the "sanctioned" wizards of the imperial colleges of magic on one side - and the witches and warlocks on the other side. Wicthes and warlocks are basically self-taught wizards. While the "good guys" are right that there is a chance that a witch becomes "evil", or, by coincidence, summons a demon without actually intending it... Most witches neither become evil nor do they ever become powerful enough to even be able to summon a demon by accident. Most of them are just some village wise men and wise women who mend bones and heal illnesses etc. of the poor villagers, and that's all. And the biggest secret about the "good guys" - their wizards use magic, just like the witches do, and ALL magic comes from Chaos. Still, they will only burn the wizards that don't have a college education. That is basically the way they know whom to burn.

Lizardmen are awesome! My partner has a lizardmen army, and we play a lot of "Dark Elves against Lizardmen", it is really fun and realistic too because the Dark Elves tend to invade Lustria a lot. Yeah the prices are quite high. I needed quite some time to collect my army of Dark Elves because of the prices, and I am still fighting with myself if I really need that War Hydra... Demons are cool. I still want some Daemonettes to make my DE army into a Storm of Chaos one (yeah I know outdated, but it was such a fun idea!).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to DarionDamage [2013-01-30 18:31:40 +0000 UTC]

Well... if a wizard may turn evil I'd say that the ones professionally trained would be wayyyy more dangerous than a self taught old man from some village.

Yes, the lizardmen with all these accompanying creatures, pterosaurs, raptors etc are so awesome...
