Description This is my Beast of A Tyranid. Yes. the model parts came from Gamesworkshop BUT! it has been Customised so that you can actually buy this exact model anywhere. Muaha.

This took me 2 weeks to put together and then another 3 weeks to paint the little bugger. The model itsels is 7 1/2 inches tall.

Apart from the bass that it stands on it is made from Metal.

I`m re-making it at the moment and painting it in a different colour scheme. I`ll post it on here when its done standing next to one of my Space Marines, just so you guys can see the size difference. Muahaha

that does help, and i like the sound of it. it would fit my flying guys jsut fine.... just two more questions, the first is does it have a point value? and the second is, do you know where i can find rules for conversion models? becuz i ve been asking lots of people... and no one knows.

Hehehe, Well, The legs are Metal Scything Talons from an Ordered 2nd edition Carnifex. The body itself is just from a basic Hive Tyrant. Now, this bit is important. The lower half of the hive tyrant needs needs to be cut so that you can angle it slightly, Then you fill the holes using the Scything talons. At the back you will need to use a large drill piece from a power drill to make another set of holes for the extra talons, but that is only if you want more Talons to scurry around on. . Then there will be holes in the sockets from where the talon doesnt fit properly. So, you use Extended Carapace armour over the top to make it look even more armoured.

There are rules that i made for it that i was always able to use. Basically, it gets +2 attacks for the sything talons, the extra claws as feet, count the same as it having wings, so it moves 12" in moving phase and assualts 6". Hope all this helps.

Woah. That is impressive.

I've never actually seen models like this before though, so...

Still, looks awesome. Such an amazing level of detail. What's that in the background?

Hehehe, in the game it is used as a piece of scenery to hide behind when getting shot ta, but really its just a piece of Polystyriene stuck to a base and painted to look like a piece of building. Lol.

Fine job with model. The only things i could suggest, is using static grass flock on the base to give it a far more textured and pro look. Also from what i can tell, it doesn't look like you made much use of inks in the painting, I'd say go with a couple of thinned down glazes of chestnut ink on the chintin areas to give the recesses a real jump up. Throw a little bleached bopne dry brush on that and it'll schmiko that model a beaut.

Anyways cheers amde.
