povray has a very realistic engine, but so far, it doesn't have an interface like 3dmax or anything like that, where you can edit the mesh's points by hand, so you have to do everything with scripts, and i'm so lazy for that x3
this render reminds me one in the hall of the fame from the povray's web and i though you made it with it.

no i did it in bryce, its several close positive metaballs with contrasting colours and then taken from a strange angle XD. basically some pretty blobs
