Description
Today is my birthday, but our poor old dog had other ideas. First he had a stroke...then, he vomited...then, he went into a coma...then, the vet came around with the injection...Now, my dearest brother, Ranger, is at one with the Earth, but in Heaven, at the same time. Say hi to Nanna and Granddad for me, okay, bro? I love you...

Yeah...on an upside, now I can stop worrying about him, and how he's gonna die. It was doing my head in, but I still wish that he was still alive...

Yeah but at least he won't suffer anymore on what happened to him. I had to put mine down cause he had tumors not sure why or where they were coming from on his body mom thinks he had cancer. At least ours doesn't have to suffer no more. My friend's cat just died of old age though that's different.

Well, Ranger was old, too. The vet said that strokes sometimes happen in older dogs. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this sudden turn of events...

Yeah...I asked my poor Dad (I think that he cried, even though he's usually very strong but sensitive) a bajillion questions: Was Ranger in pain? Was Miguel (our vet) SURE that his heart was stopped before you buried him? (I asked that one TWICE). Could we have saved h if we'd known about his stroke just after it happened? Dad said that Mum heard a bad sound, and went out, and called Dad. Dad said that he just thought that Ranger had thrown up (which he had) and, was in distress (which gets to me, poor Rangee was in distress!!). He took him out and brought him in, and Ranger laid down and...died. He went brain dead... =/ Dad stayed with him as he "brain-died" and then when the injection was administered. Because, my Dad says that nobody deserves to die alone...

Well your dad is right. No one deserves to die alone but when I had to put my dog down it was too hard for me and I ran out. Cause he was in serious pain I bet with all those tumors which was probably cancer. I just couldn't take it I mean I had that dog for 14 years.

Yeah, I couldn't stay, but Dad told me the details (because I asked - I cope with grief like that by asking questions). And, yeah, we had Ranger for that long, too. ^^

Yeah it's normal at least you had your dog with you when he died I didn't. I couldn't take it. I still miss him his picture is on my desk.
