You should get a similar effect if you set a rot angle of z equal to 90 or -90 try and see

In this image I used a wrong formula (a rotation was introduced - that caused the solid look)

It looks interesting, i'm getting some fun places and with the julia you get similar solid forms to the original Asurf ....although here I get no effect from the scale vary with the formula on its own..is that just me?Β
