Pardon my ineptitude at the finer points of fractal math, but what would be the difference between using this and just using negative polar? And I appreciate the pun.

Negative polar is not reverse polar
Suppose to have a polar xform
You want to undo the effect of polar?
Using this in a linked xform, the inverse function, returns you the original undeformed pixel.
Modifying the xforms themself will have nice effects
Hope this helps
