Days carved from memoriesfan-folded like an accordion
Stringing hours into a chain
of paper-doll assimilation
Dread lodged in my bowels
like a fistful of loose change
My tongue resinously lacquered
in a metallic mélange
An ephemeral moment of insight
perforates undulations in the air
Stimulants trickle from pores
narcosis functions impaired
Gawking through one-way-mirrors
within my temporal asylum
Situated in a corner I observe
sanity’s motionless pendulum
