Description
Because They're Interesting: Regina Mills (Once Upon a Time) - Tragic villains are often very hard to write, but Regina, in my opinion, is one of the most intriguing and complex villains in television. She started out as a poor miller's daughter who fell in love with a stable boy, but was married off to a widowed king against her wishes (thanks to her greedy, overbearing mother), and then betrayed by her own step-daughter (again, thanks to her greedy, overbearing mother). Then, long after the king's death, Regina casted a spell over her kingdom to make her own happily ever after come true, and adopted a boy named Henry, who was later revealed to be the son of Regina's granddaughter, Emma (you have to be a fan of the show to understand it).Because They're Cool: Ash Williams (The Evil Dead franchise) - This guy may be a womanizer and an idiot, but dammit, he's the only character I know that can take down an entire hoard of Deadites with just a shotgun and an old worn down car, AND...he has a freaking chainsaw for a right hand! Groovy, indeed.
Because Their Character Makes Sense: Joyce Byers (Stranger Things) - Some people may see Joyce as a scared, weeping worry-wart, but you know what? This woman has every right to be scared and crying, because her son was taken from her by evil alien creatures not once, but TWICE, and she did everything in her power to stop them and bring her son back. She's one of the most badass moms in the TV history!
Because They Have Flaws: Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Marvel) - This guy's not your typical stoic badass like Batman or Daredevil, nor is he your typical righteous do-gooder like Superman or Captain America. This guy is a clumsy, childish, wisecracking, foul-mouthed, gun wielding maniac...and that's EXACTLY why I love him so much!
Because They're Smart: Tony Stark/Iron Man (Marvel) - Made his first suit in a cave with just a load of scrap metal while being imprisoned by terrorists, established the Department of Damage Control to clean up battle sites and dangerous weapons, and creates specialized tech for every Avenger. Damn, Mr. Stark doesn't mess around!
Because They're Misunderstood: Carrie White (Stephen King's Carrie) - Poor Carrie...being the primary target of school bullies, having a cold, religious fanatic for a mother, and being cursed with telekinetic powers that she never asked for. All this girl wanted was a friend and a chance to be happy at the prom, but those popular kids at her school completely ruined that for her. Even she did end up killing half of the student body, she didn't deserve any of that!
Because They're an Archetype: Fa Mulan (Disney's Mulan) - A normal girl who selflessly takes her father's place in the army, uses her wits to overcome the odds, and becomes the hero of China. What's not to love about this character?
Because I Can Relate: Raven (Teen Titans) and Fluttershy (MLP) - I couldn't decide which character to choose for this particular category, so I decided to go with both. With Raven, I relate to her because I'm usually the quiet one that wants to be left alone, and like her, I also have a fascination for dark and spooky things. With Fluttershy, I relate to her because I'm also very shy, and try really hard not offend any of my peers. I also get very nervous when I have to perform or do some kind of presentation in public.
Because They Have Redeemable Qualities: Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender) - On the surface, Zuko may seem like your typical stoic, evil villain, but he's actually one of the most sensitive and emotional characters in animation. As a child, Zuko was abused by his sister and neglected by his father, but when he was old enough to attend a council meeting, Zuko got half of his faced burned by his father for speaking out against their plan to sacrifice an entire devision of new war recruits. Despite having a hot temper, Zuko never enjoyed killing or harming innocent people, and was always loyal and caring to his uncle (even though he'd get annoyed by him at times). Hell, he even took a lightning bolt for Katara in the series finale! If that's not the sign of a true hero, I don't know what is.
Because They're Honest: Rei Hino/Sailor Mars (Sailor Moon - 90's anime) - People seem to either love or hate this version of Rei. I'm more of the former, because even though she can be pretty harsh to Usagi, she usually has good reasons for it. I mean, someone needs to call out Usagi when she's acting like an idiot or a crybaby.
Because They're Nice: Orihime Inoue (Bleach) - This is a girl who's been through so much. Abused by her parents as toddler, bullied by her classmates as a kid, and lost her only brother at the age of 15. However, despite this, Orihime still manages to keep smiling and go out of her way to help and cheer up her friends. Hell, she even went out of her way to use her godlike healing powers on Loly, a girl who she had no reason to save, considering that Loly literally treated her like a human punching bag!
Because of Subtext: Hinata Hyuga (Naruto) - She may not be the strongest, or most well developed character in Naruto, but the fact that she had an emotionally abusive childhood, wanted to prove herself worthy of her father (much like Zuko), and found comfort in someone who was hated by the entire village at the time, makes her a very compelling and emotionally strong character in my eyes.
Because of Their Hatedom: Boruto Uzumaki (Naruto/Boruto) - I was thinking of using Himawari or Sumire for this category, but now that they're starting to get more love in the fandom, I decided to go with Boruto instead. A lot of people like to dismiss this character as a "brat", due to his anger toward his father in Boruto: The Movie, but if you actually watch the movie and the new anime, you'll know that there's much more to his character than that. Boruto may not always have the best relationship with his father, but he's still very kind and caring toward his mother, sister and friends. Then there are the other fans who just hate him because he isn't Sarada (but that's a topic for another day).
Because They're Underrated: Finn (Star Wars - the sequel trilogy) - People love to call this character "boring", "annoying", and "useless", but I don't think he's either of those things. To me, Finn is a tragic anti-villain, because he was kidnapped as a child and groomed into becoming a cold-blooded killer like all his fellow stormtroopers. His story arc of him going from a runaway stormtrooper to straight up war hero is one of many reasons why I enjoy the sequel trilogy (and I think he's a much more interesting character than Crylo Ren ).
Because They Changed for the Better: Steve Harrington (Stranger Things) - HOLY SHIT! Talk about an epic redemption arc! At first, Steve was just a horny asshole that only cared about being popular, but all of that changed toward the end of season 1. He not only apologized to Nancy and chose to wipe the graffiti that said "NANCY WHEELER IS A SLUT" off the movie theater billboard, but helped her and Jonathan take down the Demigorgan in the season 1 finale, formed a close bond with Mike and his friends in season 2, and became the most badass babysitter ever!
Because I CAN: Bloo (Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends) - I don't care if he's considered one of the worst cartoon characters ever, I LOVE this little shit! His pranks and constant sass always had me laughing when I was a kid. Granted, it's been a few years since I last watched FHFIF, but even if the show aged badly, I always thought Bloo was hilarious.

Hmm, true, I guess. Plus, Mac's his personal killjoy. And the time where Bloo did try to save Mac was in "Crime After Crime", a very, very bad episode (especially at the end).

I just wish he wasn't paired with Rose in the last movie.

He wasn't "paired" with her though. He looked totally confused and befuddled by her kiss near the end, and I don't think any pairings are gonna be confirmed until Episode 9.

I mean him going on the journey. Plus her line when she kissed him was the worst line in star wars history

I'll admit, that line was really cheesy, but I've heard worse lines in the Star Wars saga (like Anakin's sand comment, for example ).

I get most of these, but Zuko kind if is confusing. "Cause he has redemable qualities" is that because he's a reformed bad guy? I mean I like him and all I was just wondering.

Zuko was never really a bad guy at all, he was just treated like the bad guy, and he always had redeemable qualities, despite being the main antagonist of Book 1.

Yeah, that makes since. I just saw him as a redeemed villain at book 2 more then anything.
I kind of saw him being the antagonist in the first book, then get started changing as the series went on.
Atleast in my eyes.

For your reasons on Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, yeah that's why she's my favorite Sailor Scout, because of how honest and straight-forward He is.

My man Ash . I still despise Bloo and think he's as bad as bad as Christen Grey(if not worse) but I respect your opinion. Also Finn is way better than Kylo Ren
