You're right, it's quite easy to destroy a picture when you use a lot of colors, but you shouldn't be afraid of that, you'll only maybe destroy it by thinking too hard about destroying it. Just go with the flow, so to speak, follow the drive that keeps you drawing, don't think about the consequences. Colors are your friends, use them

The camel was supposed to be some kind of fata morgana... but in the end, it does look hilarious (even hideous) in a way
I'm always telling myself to also focus on the background but just after I finish the coloring of the person, I am too lazy to draw something as demanding as the figure. But somehow, I really like the pyramids - alright, it is not that difficult to draw pyramids, but still... xDD

Well, my drawings are mostly spontaneous, no planning. Not much at least. I actually can't work for more than a day on only one picture. I get bored quite easily... unfortunately though. My concentration sucks xD But in order to draw a proper background, I have to fight that, huh? I'll try^^

Oh, ok, I usually plan my drawings for some time, so I know how it should look like. Well, yeah, concentration is kinda crucial to drawing, if you don't wanna go: Oh crap! Her hair's green! ...or something

Whenever I draw, I usually have an idea - a basic guideline on what I want to draw and how it should look like. So, nah, green hair might not happen when I loose my concentration - unless, of course, it's intended xD
My lack of concentration only happens at the end, when I'm done with the main figure, and sometimes it just does look better without a background - even though I'm always telling myself to draw one^^
