Description
Item Name:- The Absolvent ScytheAbilities:- age change (baby/ adult), memory eraser, gender change (male to female), mind-altering, personality manipulation, teleportation
Description:- A divine scythe enhanced by the fallen angel Enêpsigos.
Those slashed by the scythe have all their sins absolved by erasing their memories and sending them back to a time when they had no sins. In nearly all cases, the target of the scythe turns into a baby.
When the wielder of the scythe slashes someone, they will also be transformed and become a female adult in their 30s. The new woman's mind and personality will then be altered, and she becomes compelled to take care of the person slashed by the Absolvent Scythe, who has been transformed into a baby.
Once the wielder and the target of the scythe have been transformed, the scythe will teleport away, preventing the same person from using it in quick succession.
History:- In ancient times, Enêpsigos was a female angel who fought on the frontlines with her scythe against many forces of evil.
As Enêpsigos fought, she began to feel remorse for those she defeated, knowing they would all be going to the realms without any way of redeeming themselves for what they did while they were alive. Instead of letting the grief consume her actions, Enêpsigos decided to find a way to help rescue these people.
Enêpsigos worked on her scythe and modified it, turning the weapon into the device “The Absolvent Scythe”, a weapon that could destroy the evil in people's hearts and give them a second chance at life.
With the Absolvent Scythe in hand, Enêpsigos returned to the battlefield. She began to purify her opponents, making them see the errors in their ways, causing them to flee the battlefields or fight with Enêpsigos to right the wrongs they had caused.
The warriors who fought with Enêpsigos thought the Absolvent Scythe was a great weapon that could help break the balance between good and evil; still, several powerful beings felt threatened by the scythe's power.
The ancient gods that Enêpsigos followed believed that they were the only beings with the right to absolve the sins of mortals, so the Absolvent Scythe was a device that threatened those ideals.
The gods called Enêpsigos to meet them and demanded she destroy the Absolvent Scythe, calling it blasphemy.
Enêpsigos was confused as she could only see the good the scythe could do on the battlefield, and she was oblivious to the gods feeling threatened by its power.
When Enêpsigos refused to destroy the Absolvent Scythe, the gods banished her from their service, turning her into a fallen angel, which left them alone with the scythe.
The gods tried to destroy the Absolvent Scythe several times but failed due to the purity of the weapon.
One of the smarter gods decided if they could not break the Absolvent Scythe, they could modify the powers of the scythe to prevent it from being worshipped by their warriors.
The gods modified the Absolvent Scythe to not only absolve the sins of the ones slashed by it but it would also send the targets back to a time when they had no sin to begin with, like when they were an innocent baby.
The gods also cursed the bladed weapon that would affect whoever wielded it as a form of punishment to those who thought they were wiser than the gods and tried to absolve a person's sins.
When a target was purified of their sins by the Absolvent Scythe and then turned into a baby, the one wielding the scythe at that time would then be a woman who would be compelled to take care of the new baby like it was their own. This curse was the god's saying, “If you think you can do better than a god, you better put your money where your mouth is.”
After the modifications, some warriors still took the risk of wielding the Absolvent Scythe as they still believed in Enêpsigo's ideals of giving people a second chance. To try and make use of the scythe on the battlefield, the warriors using the scythe would dive head-on into large groups of enemies, trying to purify as many people as they could before they were transformed as well.
The warrior's actions annoyed the old gods as too many people were still willing to wield the Absolvent Scythes, going against the god's ideas. To counter this, the old gods did a publicity campaign against the scythe and those who thought it was a good weapon. The gods also sped up the wielder's transformation into a woman and made it so the Absolvent Scythe would teleport away after being used once.
After the old god’s smear campaign against the Absolvent Scythe, there have only been a few recorded incidents of people using the scythe. Still, every time it was recorded being used, it was always for justice.
How the Absolvent Scythe came to the museum is another interesting story.
A warrior came upon the Absolvent Scythe and believed it could be the weapon to destroy Moli, the Beast of Turmoil, who had just spotted a candy bar she wanted in a vending machine and was heading over towards the machine.
The warrior struck Moli with the scythe, which became lodged in her belly.
Due to Moli being an innocent creature with no sins in her, she was not affected by the Absolvent Scythe.
The warrior, on the other hand, still faced the Absolvent Scythe’s curse and was transformed into a woman. Since the scythe had not changed Moli, the woman had no desire to take care of Moli and instead wandered off to find a child to take care of.
With the warrior gone, Moli continued on her way to the vending machine, but due to the Absolvent Scythe being lodged in her belly, she could not press any of the buttons on the vending machine.
Fortunately, members of the Artifact Retrieval and Transportation (A.R.T.) team had come to find Moli to get an artifact from her to fill their collection quota.
The A.R.T. team members removed the Absolvent Scythe from Moli’s belly and sent the artifact off to be in the museum collection.
Artist Note:- While Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, this month in its shadow is one of violence, “Black Friday”, and the war for cheap products; thus, this month's artifacts are all weapon-based just to get people ready. Plus a B-story involving Moli
