Hey there everyone,

I'm back again and it seems I only have two or three more pictures before this thing wraps up. However I may return to it sooner or later and draw more detailed versions of some pictures I am not exactly pleased with some. Others didn't draw out the way I envisioned in my head. So I was fiddling around with the lighting and shadows again and am starting to get the hang of it, but what do you think? to light? or to dark? Oh well, on with the main presentation. In summary Glaciem has broken off from the regrouping Canterlot Guard and has struck off on his own to find the Hyppogryff Queen for assistance. He realizes that any chance to have a peaceful end to current political troubles.

He had marched, or flown, over a seemingly expansive desert south of the forbidden Jungle for what seemed like ever until a plume of smoke began to spew out over the horizon. As he entered the city something seemed off...this story is what happened just before and following his intial entry into the city.

Story:

Glaciem heaved a heavy sigh as the leaves softly grazed his shoulders. He looked around into the expansive, dark Jungle that surrounded him and listened. Nothing but the sounds of crickets, exotic birds, and the occasional gust of wind met his ears. The ground under his hooves felt soaked easily imprinted in it were six sets of hoof prints heading south toward the desert. He looked up into the air for a brief moment, his heart felt heavy. He wanted to fly and take the quicker route to his destination. however he realized that doing so would only result in potential unwanted attention and being so far from home he knew that was out of the question.

He looked over his shoulder, a pang of sadness echoing in his soul as he remembered the long train of refugees he left behind. He longed to go back and help them, to show them that he had not abandoned them. However he knew that if these invaders were indeed hunting Alicorns, his presence would only put those already exhausted ponies into harm's way again. For Glaciem, putting innocent lives in jeopardy was simply in-excusable no matter what the reason. However as he looked back and listened to the twigs and sticks crunch underneath his hooves he felt something he had not in hours...The warmth of sunlight against the back of his neck.

He looked forward again toward the bright yellow sunlight that soaked the trees before him. Slowly he entered into the light and heaved a heavy sigh as nothing but endless miles of sand dunes met his gaze. Immediately the stifling heat which had already been intense to start with had now begun to grow oppressive.

Apprehensively he started forward, soft dirt under his hooves becoming more course and rough, softly grated his hooves as he stepped into the desert. As he drew in another breath he could feel the heat of the desert enter his lungs. Minutes turned to hours  His shadow grew in the sands beside him as the sun crawled its path across the western sky. Three hours pass with no signs of civilization. Glaciem with sweat beginning to trickle down his forehead and a self made cold spell billowing before him finally decided to take to the air.

He spread his majestic wings, each casting a large shadow onto the sands beneath them. He jumped into the air, the scorching afternoon air piercing through his fur as he ascended into the orange tinted sky. As he ascended the needle like spires of a distant town slowly grew over the horizon. Glaciem felt a wave of relief wash over him as he instinctively made for it, knowing well that the tracks below him took the same route.

However the closer he came to the town the more it struck him something was wrong with this town. Here it was closing in on sunset and not a being stirred in the rustic village that now stood below him. He looked around and through the smoke choked streets of the down-trodden sand colored dwellings that made up a good majority of the town's infrastructure.

He followed a particularly wide road which he guessed was the town's main thoroughfare. He guessed trade was this town's main source of income as the streets below him was choked with a rainbow of different colored tents and carts, to his astonishment and horror all were either broken or completely destroyed. A pang of nervousness developed in his heart as he scanned for any signs of life, finding none. Instead all he could see was various bits of debris strewn all over the roads.

An audible gasp escaped his lungs as he saw what appeared to be an aquatic bipedal man lay motionless on the ground below him. He could only guessed what shook him more; the fact there is someone down there or the fact that no creature has even cared enough to check up on this poor individual.

He felt the steam like air slam into his face as he descended at a speed that would make Miss Rainbow Dash impressed. He felt the firmly packed sand as his hooves came to rest on top of it. The creature looked up into Glaciem's eyes studying him for a moment before a wave of terror flooded his face.

"Please! No more!" the fish man whimpered as if he were being harshly punished.

Glaciem cocked his head back as he studied each and every fearful face around him and realized something had frightened these creatures and his a sense of dread washed over him when he realized that something was not him. He then thought back to Canterlot, to all the destruction the storm king's guards had wrought upon the Equestrian capital until it finally struck him.

For now his gaze turned back toward the helpless creature on the road and the subsequent, crushing feeling of pity Glaciem felt when looking into this creatures Green, fearful eyes as he extended his hoof toward the creature.

"I mean no harm sir..." he said in a deep voice as he gave a warm empathetic smile to the creature. The creature studied his hoof for a few seconds before shakily his claws wrapped around Glaciem's limb.

"I have come to believe several ponies came by here not to long ago, have you or any creature here seen them? I have reason to suspect they may be in danger." Glaciem said, his deep voice booming into the street around him.

"Oh you can bet their in danger!" The fish man's voice said slamming into Glaciem's ears who promptly turned his face back into the creatures green eyes.

"Excuse me sir?" Glaciem probed

"Oh it's just that they are in danger. You see these six mares came into town about three hours ago..."

Glaciem listened to the fish man as he weaved a tale about how six ponies, one looking like a smaller and more purple version of him, came into town and were immediately swarmed by the Towns people who were about to tear them limb from limb. Until a Abyssinian runaway by the name of "Capper" found the ponies and took them to an undisclosed location. The only direction this "Capper's" home was in was west toward the harbor. He continued on about how not long after Tempest and the Storm guards came into town and began interrogating all the people here, destroying everything in their path.

The fish man's voice began to tremble, his eyes filled with terror once again, when he recalled how he tried to confront the Equine leader of the Storm Guards regarding an earlier incident with Capper and the six ponies. Afterwords they marched west and before he knew it the whole city began to come down.

"I saw them leave on an airship with some bird pirates at the harbor I believe, honest!"

To that Glaciem gave a warm smile which seemed to lessen the mood of every creature around him.

"Thank you for your time, I leave in peace."

With that the Prince spread his mighty wings and flew off into the dust cloud to the west, following the trail of destruction left by the windmill's destruction.
