Wow, this picture is beautiful! I love the soft lines and colors. And I have no idea who little Garnet is, but it doesn't prevent me from enjoying the artwork!

Garnet is basically a scrapped idea.Β
I had -at one point- wanted to make a story where it follows the versions of the 2k12 turtles that ran off with the Fugitoid at the end of the space arch. Because, lets face it, it didn't fix the time line, they just went to outer space with no threats while the originals stayed on Earth.Β
So, the space version is that they would explore the universe more and grow up in space. They join a galactic federation (for varying reasons) and eventually a war breaks out. One planet that is full of massive resources is under heavy fire. By the time the turtles are sent to aide them the planet is pretty much lost. They get there and find out that the resources they federation was talking about was actually medical technology and the person who had developed it was dead and most of the stuff they needed to grab was now behind enemy lines being defended by a handful of troops. They use their ninja skills to get into the base that has what they were sent for. There, they finally get to see this tech. Its a red turtle shell that can be worn on anyone's back, it expands and encases the medic as well as their patient in a nearly indestructible dome complete with tech that can mend wounds, stop bleeding, and even do amputations.Β
Garnet is in this unit. She wears one of these shells over her own because she is one of the few real medics left. She does come from a planet where there are a lot of reptilian people. She doesn't over step herself and tends to enjoy keeping to herself and the other medics. Donnie starts to study the tech that they are rather possessive of. Eventually him and Garnet get on friendly terms and he realizes something extremely important about her. She's not the creator of this but while the unit has been pinned there for as long as they have (about a year now), she's been the one to repair the shells, weapons, and vehicles. They need her to recreate blue printsΒ for the federation of this medical technology.Β
Eventually they get her and the unit out. She becomes pretty good friends with Leo and Donnie, she has respect for Raph and Mikey. I thought one of the neat ways for them to get along was to start talking about "home" and they get to understand each other's cultures.
Anyway, it was scrapped because I seem to never be able to do original characters well. But I like drawing her and I enjoy her soft colors.

I completely agree with you, the space arc end didn't fix the time line. Plus they sacrificed the younger versions who happily disappeared into space, never to come home again. *sigh*
But it inspired beautiful drawings, so there is that.

And on another note; I have such a terrible habit of over complicating everything I create. XDΒ
Take my story Lanterns for example. I've only got three chapters out (due to life being hard to take the time to write) and I have this HUGE story line for it that I would be happy if it ended in 20 chapters that are each 10 pages long, but even then I anticipate to go further only because I want to be able explain everything. I mean, heck! I have Come out Come out at 20 chapters now but really I'm only half way through it!
