Tribute to Hunter S Thompsonthanks to the dev for the daily deviation, i had no clue about it and logged in after like 2 weeks of not logging in to 700+ messages. I swear i got spammed or something..
1) its not meant to be deep thought out art piece with everything in place. It's just supposed to be fun
2) sorry about the brush credits, I have a huge collection on my drive and had no idea where I got any of them anymore but whoever did em thanks.
3) for those of you who don't "get it" it said San Francisco because it was shot in San Francisco (not las vegas) and for those who dont know who HST is, read a book

Am sorry besides the tons of word i could use to qualified your work piece. I would like to say : Am I hallucinating or the typing machine is the same of the one used in the movie (the movie obviously since i couldn't know which one mr thompson used for his novel ^^)

This looks a little bit contrived, actually. Not so much the pose, like people are saying, but I don't think this really fits in with Hunter's vision. It's just not pulled together enough for me.

hunter s. thompson is one rad dude. loved fear and loathing in las vegas, has some gnarly quotes aswell. nice work dude

I've seen Hunter S. Thompson reinterpreted several different ways, but this is by far the sexiest. Even more so than the post sex-change Hunter Gathers character on The Venture Bros.

Do you think he would have wanted to be remembered for Fear and Loathing, for all the drugs and ... fear ... and loathing...? Its a decent shot, a bit overdone, I think, but it captures the pervading atmosfear that comes with f/l in San Fran. I suppose MrGonz summed up whats really wrong-- its too much, the ink splatters are too big, too artificial. Likewise, the girl... well, it dates itself. A tribute should be neither an imitation nor a parody.

I really wish there was a trail in the sand from the type writer. It would make it look more natural.

The ink splatters aren't really nescesary, I don't think, but they should have some more detail to them as it is.

It makes me sad whenever someone makes a statement about a movie which came out after a book. It completely dismisses the book as not worthy of even mentioning.

Once again, I agree. I also hate the fact that most people don't know anything about Thompson or his life and think of the movie as some crazy, pointless drug binge when the entire situation was so much more than that.

Epic. Love her expression--very Thompson. And the shirt-no-pants thing and the socks are excellent. The bottle in her hand really stands out. Made the picture for me.
